The time has come again to see which Liga MX club will be crowned champions of North America, Central America, and the Caribbean, because they've loving won it for as long as I can remember. Oh, sure, Major League Soccer sends five teams, but only twice has an MLS side made it to the Champions League Final since the format change, when more than eight teams made the tournament. This year there's a change of format again - now there's only the Knockout Stage, starting with 16 teams. Will this mean MLS will have an advantage? Well, if the CONCACAF Club Index is correct (which, having just been invented, could be totally worthless)....no. Liga MX clubs range in value from 101-110 points, while MLS clubs range from 71-76. ANYWAY, here are the fixtures for the Round of 16: LEG 1 February 20 Herediano vs. UANL - 8PM Colorado Rapids vs. Toronto - 10PM February 21 Deportivo Saprissa vs. Club América - 7PM Tauro vs. Dallas - 8PM Montagua vs. Tijuana - 10PM February 22 Cibao vs. Guadalajara - 8PM Santa Tecla vs. Seattle Sounders - 10PM Olimpia vs. Red Bull New York - 10PM LEG 2 February 27 UANL vs. Herediano - 8PM Toronto vs. Colorado Rapids - 8PM Tijuana vs. Montagua - 10PM February 28 Guadalajara vs. Cibao - 8PM Dallas vs. Tauro - 8PM Club América vs. Deportivo Saprissa - 10PM March 1 Red Bull New York vs. Olimpia - 8PM Seattle Sounders vs. Santa Tecla - 10PM If you want to watch this, I hope you speak Spanish! MLSsoccer.com says all the matches are on either Univision Deportes Network or univisiondeportes.com in the United States and gives no information on if it's available in English. This is what happens when you don't win anything for a decade plus! Toronto matches are on TSN2, so that's at least something.

Nah, they spread out the teams on the bracket pretty well; besides the Colorado-Toronto quirk, teams from the same league can't meet until the Semis. It'll most likely be an all MLS vs. LigaMX Quarterfinals (Club America vs. FC Dallas, Toronto FC vs. Tigres, NYRB vs. Tijuana, Sounders vs. Chivas), then all LigaMX from there. At least this means I get to stop caring sooner.

Both Xolos and Chivas have been kind of crappy this season (both Apertura and Clausura), so if any MLS side is going to advance it would most likely be NYRB or SSFC.
