Is q still a thing? I found another source for let the dead bury their dead, a maze of stars by John brunner. It comes toward the end of sort of stream of consiousness thing where some floating alien things are explaining what happened to a human colony by using emotions

When a colleague working at the same practice complained that the information had been inappropriately shared with her as well, the NSW Medical Council began to look into McGregor�s wellbeing.

During a hearing into his mental state, McGregor told the medical council that if they had �any understanding of politics, you would understand that the beliefs that are actually put on the blog are actually the directives from President Trump�.

When the council chair called to say his registration had been suspended, he called her a �filthy dirty loving leftwing slut� and claimed she �knowingly used the power of political correctness to inflict woman to male intimidation and assault against [him]�.

�You think you can do this just because I�m rightwing?� McGregor asked.

He later used the blog to label the council a �pedophile protection agency� and �deranged President Trump haters and those who are political sycophants of what the Deep State represents�.

McGregor�s deregistration was granted by NCAT on Wednesday after a hearing in which the doctor�s own assessing psychiatrist testified that McGregor was paranoid.

Dr Murray Wright said McGregor had tried to win him over to the QAnon cause by bringing a 600-page document to the consultation.

�These are extraordinary beliefs for a consultant psychiatrist to publicly associate himself with, particularly on a website associated with his clinical practice,� Wright told NCAT.

McGregor was also found guilty of professional misconduct and banned from reapplying for a year over the posts and his verbal abuse. He will need to prove he has recovered significantly should he wish to practice again.

The German national ID card called "Personalausweis" is actually an employee ID card of the GmbH (the word "personal" has multiple meanings in German also used to refer to employees in a company).

There has been some pretty funny and tragic stories coming out of the movement the last couple of years. Like, I remember a story a couple of years ago where a family with 6 children fled from German Child Protective Services to Russia to appeal to the Russian government to protect them from "children abductions" because their home was in the former Soviet occupation zone. After Russian authorities freaked out and told them to get lost, they lived in a VW van in some parking lot with their 6 children for months. At some point they gave up and tried to get asylum for a couple of years, which Russia continually refused. The last thing I heard is that they received temporary refugee status on "humanitarian" grounds last year so that they could get an apartment and don't have to live in a van. IRC the Russian CPS tried to take away their children too cause they are clearly not mentally healthy enough to raise children and a van is not an environment for 6 children anyway. Also, people are writing "notarized" letters to Putin and Trump all the time to help them out of legal troubles, cause they are the only legal authority according to them.

there was an article a couple of years ago which i wish i could find again about some dude running a fake news site that would post made up poo poo to facebook for the explicit purpose of then admitting it was fake to get people to think about what they were reading and recognize hoaxes. the reporter also interviewed some lady who shared some of the stories believing they were real. long story short the people who believed it was real, when told they'd been duped, dismissed it as the work of mean liberals while continuing to believe every other obvious fake story they read

The whole experience is awful and I do not recommend it.

Although I suppose Grant Stinchfield did do a fawning "Now, these beliefs might seem a little out there, but up next we have Praying Medic on the line, and he's gonna tell us all about what this Q thing is all about!" profile earlier this month, but I'm not sure if that counts.
