between that and the goons who paid $750 for Shroud of the Avatar I am beginning to think people in this subforum have a problem with videogames. Seriously, though, I agonize over buying a $60 game like once a year and consider it a ripoff if I don't get at least $1/hour of value out of it, which seems very unlikely to happen with a bad mmo

Kinda, Gates was designed with there being a level cap increase, but the cap wasn't increased till Omens. So poo poo was way overtuned.

Nothing like moving so fast that the zone servers had a hard time keeping up with you and not spawn things until after you passed them. Though that might have been my crappy pc at the time.

Frog Act posted:I definitely did play Vanguard and only stopped because there just wasn't enough of a playerbase to sustain a lively world within a year of launch, and when I played at launch, it was overcrowded and suffered from typical issues. There was a brief period where it was a really good and functional leveling experience, at least, though I never got to the supposedly completely unfinished endgame. No MMO has come close to recreating a blood mage and all the games are worse off for it.
