There's a new show out on netflix called "fastest car" and it is unbelievably lovely.

Like they held a focus group asking what the thing people hate most about current car shows, and made an entire show out of their answers. Like the went out to find the most egotistical people on the planet to do a 40 minute profile on before a 10 second 4 way race.

Global warming could be a reason it's snowing outside on april 9th. The polar jetstream getting all fucky is ruining everything.

On the plus side, the North Atlantic Current getting destroyed is gonna turn England into Canada, and that's going to be pretty funny.

Forecast says Saturday should be 57*f and sunny and i can't even imagine what that's going to feel like.

It was mostly a joke, but CA's annual GDP is +$1 billion on TX's. You can also grow food beyond cattle and tumbleweeds in CA, and in the ideas race, Silicon Valley vs Deregulated Placement of Fertilizer Storage Facilities is a no-brainer.

Additionally, CA controls the means of production of porn.

The joke was about water wars. There's a national geographic documentary called "Water & Power: A California Heist" which kinda details how it has already started.

Basically, the people they put in charge of the water are also the people who own the biggest farm in California, and they decided that they need to grow almonds at 1 gallon of water per almond before the people who live in towns in the San Joaquin Valley get any.

So yeah, California can grow food right now. Once the water wars really kick off? probably not.

How large of a fire should i expect?

Fingers crossed.

It has charged up to 66%, the old battery is 3100mah, the "new" one 1850mah.

I'm still rocking my S5 and literally my only issue is that the rear camera cover got cracked and gradually fell off, and now over the last year and a half the lens itself has gradually been getting more and more scratched. Other than that the chips in the plastichrome are pure badges of honor, and everything else that wears out is pretty easy to fix.

I'd replace the camera module but apparently it's the heater core of phone parts.

This thing has a cracked screen and various other battle scars. When i pulled it out of the drawer and started using it again, it worked perfectly until i updated it, then within a few cycles, it would shut off with the battery at ~60%, then 65%, then 70%, and eventually wouldn't even run while plugged in.

The OG battery was 3100 MAh, this thing is 1850. I don't plan on tethering or gaming or anything super intensive, so i figure it should be fine. playing gem miner 2 at medium brightness it's predicting 4 hours 55 minutes of life out of a 100% charge.

I just came from an iphone 4s that started doing the same thing. I managed to turn it into a motion sensing IP security camera that stores the videos on my pc using IP Camera free on the phone and anycam on the computer.

Not perfect, but pretty drat good for an old phone that's ready for the bin.

The way pennies put pressure points on the end of those folded-polymer batteries, I'd trust a few pieces of stacked cardboard more.

The pennies are almost loose, most are just there to keep the top penny from popping out at an angle, if the battery supports the phone fine i'll probably make a nice little wood block for it.

I went ~a year without a phone and it really broke my need for it, unfortunately so much stuff these days requires you to have one.

I've never really given charging ports a second though, always had batteries fail long before anything else, and with the subsidies they used to give on phones, it used to be cheaper to get a new phone than replace the battery.

Now they require you to be over $105 a month to get the subsidy and aww hell naw

You start at $105 and they bill creep your rear end up to $150

I remember when the 03 CVPIs first started hitting auctions around $6k and dropped to about $3k after a few years, at this point they're around $1k.

What amazes me is the Tahoes only go for around $6k. with 170,000kms, which on a GM is just out of warranty. 5.3, 6L80, RWD. that seems like something that could last forever if you could get to it before the rust does. Seeing the latest engine masters with the 5.3 also gives me bad ideas.

Ecoboost Tauruses/Exploders seem to go for more than the tahoes, and seeing what civilian use does to the PTO, i wouldn't touch one of those with a 10 foot pole.

Almost everything here now is a Tahoe or Explorer. They have like 5 unmarked white/silver Explorers so the Explorer is now the vehicle that causes the "oh poo poo" moments for me.
