Venice has been eating Toronto's lunch for world premieres for the last few years as well.

It is later, but companies used to 'save' movies for TIFF, which fewer and fewer are still doing.

I didn't really like this book and am kind of the opinion that Gillian Flynn is only good when a top shelf director (Fincher, McQueen) adapts her work, but I like the music in this trailer for Sharp Objects and Amy Adams is a good choice for the lead.

I can't tell if they're on the same team in the trailer but if the movie is just Iko Uwais throwing down with Tony Jaa for 90 straight minutes it'll be the greatest movie of all time.

What does it need to tell me? It gives me a taste of the imagery, tone, and some of the cast. I don't need it spelled out because I was practically sold on the film sight unseen.

Seeing this movie called The Twentieth Century tomorrow. It's a Canadian gonzo biopic by way of Guy Maddin. Unfortunate the trailer is only on Facebook.

Indonesia is making their own Avengers universe based on some comics dating back to the 60's. I just saw this one (Gundala) and it's pretty good. This is the first film of the series, and there's four more coming out between now and the end of 2021.

Having seen it as well as all of bongs stuff I think it's distinct enough not to feel like any sort of ripoff. You'll be seeing an awful lot of class warfare movies after the success of Parasite but Bong was neither the first nor the last to explore that theme.

This is indeed what I was saying. But Moana wasn't Pixar, it was Disney proper. I was talking about Pixar. Moana is my favorite Disney proper animated movie ever.

Coco is great. It was one of the 3 Pixar successes of the past decade I was citing.

Clearly my post was unclear. Sorry about that.

Oh my bad, it appears that I don't actually know the difference between Pixar and Disney proper (I figured Coco was produced by Disney as well).

All that being said, I think that Soul looks like it was produced with more of a 'Coco' sensibility than a 'Cars 2' one.

Yeah, turning what did be a worldwide catastrophic event into some dumb Kyle Chandler family drama was a colossal misstep. Nothing about the human storyline worked, even with pretty good actors involved. Someone should release a cut where it's just the monster stuff.

I still remember the fanfare and anticipation of the trailer, it was only out on QUICKTIME too.
Took a few hours to download, and was mind blowing.

Then, you know the rest.

I remember going to see Wing Commander just to see this trailer, and the theatre was smartly not allowing refunds.
