but this one was about a cloud migration service, and holy poo poo, i had no clue what was going on and sounds very complicated. i think i went to try to network but i didn’t much info from people. everyone kept asking me for my card and was weirded out that i didn’t have one. what are a bunch of tech gurus doing handing out paper cards anyway?

paper cards are really easy to deal with

just take a card out of your pocket and hand it to someone, who puts it in their pocket

later on when they get home, they put it in the garbage whatever bespoke organization method they prefer to use, whether it's analog or digital

good thinking imo. it reminds me of that giant QR code on land in China that led to malware when scanned from planes. depends how good you are with cons and conflict... maybe get someone else to hand them out unless you can slip it in with a bunch of others

e. good opportunity to goatse an event

All the artistry of live coding is gone. People just record git commits and play them back in front of an audience. its more about the drugs than the code it feels.

Some coders are still coding live. I only watch obscure Steel Bank Common LISP developers these days, so much more pristine than watching some kid waffle about with Visual Studio like he's fuckin' DJ Keoki or something

make it put up a screen claiming to be a cryptolocker

if they transfer some cryptocurrency to the address on the screen, it should transition to an ad for your security services, and also tell them to call you to stop the press release about how they’ve been pwned

also just make it dismiss entirely by closing the window

THIS MOTHERDUCKER

i went to the NYC Mesh meet up like a year ago and they had a bunch of cool stuff they were working on to get everyone free wifi, and they had A Lot Of Things To Say about LinkNYC. I stopped going after I had to travel a bunch for work, and was really annoyed that they didn't bother to fill out the form which would let them get matching funds from my employer for volunteering. They were always saying "yeah we need a couple of grand to get another high-bandwidth node up" and ignored me when I told them that they could get like $1k from when I spent a bunch of time doing RF coverage simulation work.
