Hobo By Intent or Robo Hobo?
Ramrod XTreme
Problem:

Computer Wakes up apparently randomly in the middle of sleeping. An ongoing, but very intermittent problem. Powercfg -lastwake in the Command Prompt identifies USB hub USB\ROOT_HUB\4&21F60AC4&0 In the Device Manager the "Allow this device to wake up the computer" option is greyed out and nothing is apparently plugged into that port. It might be a physical problem with that port (cheap case, the front comes off a little too easily) but I don't know how to diagnose that. Tried scanning with Microsoft Security Essentials a while ago and found nothing. A more recent Malwarebytes scan found malware. Also ran HijackThis, found a bunch of stuff that that looks worrying. The more I poke at it the more sleep I lose. I have bad computer owner habits :[

Attempted fixes: I initially noticed it after getting new headphones, and thought I ticked a box messing with audio settings. Doesn't seem to be the case. Disabled mouse and timer waking. Tried using devicedisablewake on the root hub path, the command didn't seem to parse.

Recent Changes: Honestly don't know. If the computer was awake when I came home from work I didn't think much of it. I started noticing it waking in the middle of the night about a month back.

Operating System: Windows 7 version 6.1.something

System Specs: AMD FX 9590 processor, ASUSTeK motherboard (cmd doesn't return a model), AMD Radeon 7800 graphics card, 16 gigs ram, 1 tb SATA disk drive

Location: U.S.

Looked at Google: Yes

HijackThis Log: Ran this immediately after booting the computer this morning. If it's a software problem that's not tied to Chrome or the startup programs (steam, discord) it won't be relevant. I'm still seeing things that make me nervous though.

I CANNOT HANDLE BEING CALLED OUT ON MY DUMBASS OPINIONS ABOUT ANTI-VIRUS AND SECURITY. I REALLY LIKE TO THINK THAT I KNOW THINGS HERE

INSTEAD I AM GOING TO WHINE ABOUT IT IN OTHER THREADS SO MY OPINION CAN FEEL VALIDATED IN AN ECHO CHAMBER I LIKE

To test a port issue you could pull the leads from the board that make those ports in front work. Other than that, I can't help you much, I leave my computer on 24/7 other than rebooting once every week or 3 and if i think I have malware I format and reinstall.

The beast of Tanagra
I've had sleep issues remedied by updating BIOS - though I haven't encountered this particular issue. Any component using a USB header plug on your MBO can show up as ROOT_HUB - sometimes people have temp monitor thingys there, whatever - and be the culprit in waking u up.

https://www.sevenforums.com/hardware-devices/281956-usb-root_hub-waking-computer.html - might be of use
