in other bird news, there's a conure in a petco that I stop by and see when I'm in the neighborhood (maybe once a week) . . . he/she's behind plexiglas so we can't touch or anything, but he knows me by this point
today he did a new thing, he actually started regurgitating, which is sort of cute but also a little sad. (for those who might not know, this is a display of affection/romance, a shorter and ickier version of what FutonForensic posted). it's springtime, his hormones must be kicking in, and he doesn't have much companionship or attention (there was a conure next to him but I guess it got sold). getting a bird is not in the cards for me right now, but man I feel bad for him.

I went to have a sit on a log for myself and I scared away two mourning doves who were hanging out and they went in a tree and I made mourning dove sounds but they still left.
What did I do wrong?

This morning there were a mating pair of yellow-throated warblers in the mock orange outside the window, dancing around in the shrub and having a look at me drink my coffee. They were pretty chill and bouncy.
