I’m sure the NFL bigwigs are aware of the overall decline in television ratings, but that doesn’t mean they aren’t paranoid of any further decline in whatever market share they have. They’re risk-averse, and if there’s any chance of losing what they currently have, they’ll avoid it like the plague. And that’s what Kaepernick’s not signed.

I tried using r/nflstreams for a while but don't think I ever made it through a whole game without it freezing up or otherwise glitching severely. Usually it happened within 15 minutes. The (European) Game Pass had a lot of hiccups after switching their tech last year, to the point of them issuing a partial refund without asking, but I'm with forums poster Jiminy Christmas! Shoes! when it comes to the benefits of a set-top box and big screen. Except that they broke the Apple TV 2nd gen app during the update and never bothered fixing it

$25/month or $300/year give me - iOS/Android/Web Browser Access - Live Steams of all Pre-season/Regular Season/Playoffs/Pro Bowl week stuff/Draft/Combine - Year round NFL Network - Archive access to any digital content the NFL has available including being able to change the camera view at-will while watching games The NFL would go crazy with sign-ups

Full disclosure: I think reddit is trash and take most opportunities I have to slam it. Yes, I'm aware GBS and FYAD are just as trashy. Hypocracy mine. That said, F1's new streaming service is 100/year for full access and 25/year for limited access. Limited is mostly marketed to those who watch on TV and don't feel the need for online viewing. NHL, NBA, and MLB are all around 125 or so for a full year, and the price drops as the season goes on, with individual team options with blackout policies.

Now they can use the fewer special teams specialists to have better position players on all rosters and the NFL can force teams to only play any one player for a maximum of 3 quarters to increase safety

I think eventually we'll get to an NFL streaming option, but the TV contracts are such an absurd cash cow currently that they have to be so terrified of affecting that money. Going by how embarrassingly long it took for the NFL to have any kind of decent social media profile, good other sports streaming packages started about 5 years ago right? So by that, we'll probably finally have a half decent NFL streaming package around 2025.
