That was a good episode, glad this is back

The hits in that Minotaur/Tombstone battle reminded me of how fun watching this was as a kid

I still wish they would bring back the old middleweight division since that also had the best ratio of weapons/weight so you would just have bots getting turn up and sent flying constantly

This was a really good episode, even if the main event was a (hilarious) bust

A big part of the goal with the new "ranking match" system was to make it easier for people to watch an individual episode whether or not they've seen the prior ones which makes it far easier for the network to do reruns/marathons/etc where people aren't always coming in with the same knowledge. The fight card system also is meant to somewhat resemble boxing/mma, where you've got the top names facing each other and undercard fights where new or underrated bots get a chance to prove themselves and climb into the main event(s).

During filming they had a general idea of what matches they wanted but would only announce the next day or two typically so they had a good bit of ability to adjust match-ups based on how the bots were performing at the time. It was a bit brutal on the teams, as there are a lot of fights, and a lot of damage to fix (and filming was only 16 days long including setup/off days) but there's a general feeling across the teams that it will make for good TV.

I feel like its probably the best incarnation of the show yet, especially since they seem to be getting more into how teams strategize and adjust for fights.

I still don't get why Chomp has such an awkward and tall chassis

Like, why is the part where the hammer connects to the top of the body not the top of the robot? Why is it so narrow?

Very fun episode, I've been very impressed with the television production this season. They've generated a lot of good matchups, and have been doing a decent job of keeping attention for fights

Especially Overhaul. I mean, I know Brutus split off that team because of "differences of opinion" with Charles, but wasn't there a second breakaway team, too? He seems a bit insufferable.

I feel like Zoey really wants that auto targeting system to work, and being a software guy I can't help but feel bad for her, even despite the obvious design flaws.

I feel like the hammer design is what kills them. I think they'd do way better with a smaller hammer that allows for a more stable bot. They spend so much time on their side, and I would totally trade a little bit of hammer power for like double the chances the attack from not constantly tipping over

It really surprises me that, even after multiple years, no one has come up with something that reliably beats Tombstone without losing to everything else.

Is Tombstone literally the best possible design?

I think some very controlly bots could beat it, but they'd struggle against bots that are less likely to throw themselves around the box after a big hit

I bet this guy might have a shot

I am curious to see if the rash of "Just Barely Not Wedge" bots manage to bounce him enough to break himself, or if Huge manages a lucky chain shot, but I think the chances of either are slim.

I really want to see Tombstone vs Huge just to see if those wheels can survive it, but I feel like its gonna be the kind of fight that is over in 20 seconds, including the countout
