David Johnson's contract is pennies

Contract Terms: 4 yr(s) / $2,919,373

He's probably sitting around staring at his wrist and wondering what life would be like with another injury.

Chase Daniel has a ten million dollar contract.

It's criminal what teams do to running backs. Who helps their team more, Chase Daniel or David loving Beast rear end Johnson

SKULL.GIF posted:

The problem isn't directly rookies who overplay their contract (though that is a factor), it's that loading up on cheap contracts and hoping one of them breaks out is a much safer and cheaper move than picking up veterans from FA.

Look at what the Packers did in 2017 with their running backs and what they're doing in 2018 with their wide receivers.

Sammy Watkins and Tyreek Hill are both 24 years old.

Tyreek has outscored Sammy both his years at least fantasy-wise to give an indication of value.

Sammy's contract is 48 million

Tyreek's is 2.5 million

The draft slot rookie contracts are insane. The logic is, under-perform and get traded but be a former first round pick with ability I guess.

The most pessimistic people in KC, and there are a lot of them, keep trying to find reasons to slow the hype train on Mahomes. So far all we got is "his passes can sail on him if he throws too hard".

Sorry about the last 8 games and the next 8 games. But hey it's another year of the media picking the Chargers to win the AFCW which is basically a holiday at this point.

In the first auction draft I was in the first guy to get auctioned up was Adrian Peterson and he went for like 60 bucks.

Too bad it was the poo poo Bears version and the entire draft broke down and had to be started over lest that guy quit in a fit of rage. It was pretty hilarious.

Mayfield qualifies for that "go back and look at his high school stats and laugh" NFL player.

6,255 passing yards, 67 touchdowns, and eight interceptions in high school. In his first start as a walk on true freshman at Texas Tech he had 43 completions for 413 yards and 4 touchdowns.

I also don't know that the Vikings had what the Chiefs were looking for in an Alex Smith trade, they pretty specifically targeted Kendall Fuller since they were planning on releasing Peters (obligatory what the Christ were you fucks thinking goes here). I think they would have preferred him over, say, Trae Waynes.

Not to mention the Skins paid Alex stupid money® so I think both parties benefited.
