I didn’t even realize it started this week! It’s the final season, since the show’s cancellation was announced in May. We have another roster of returning competitors from earlier seasons. Being the 13th and final season, the challenges focus around the number 13. The competition structure has also been altered for this season to fit with the idea of a ‘battle royale’. Every week, all artists are paired head-to-head on the same character or concept (for example, Ep 1 had contestants paired up to reinterpret fairy tale characters such as the little mermaid in Guillermo del Toro style). In the interest of keeping the roster at even numbers for this structure, two contestants are eliminated at the end of every other episode.
