I don't know any specifics, but my GW store was working on the models today when I swung by. The models are about as nicely detailed as the new ghost dudes and some have nice synergies. There was a big ethereal axe-pendulum that can only move back and forth on a line; manager didn't give me any stats but presumably it does a lot of damage. There's also a portal spell with two mirror models that lets stuff move around the battlefield- set one up in the path of the pendulum, use the other mirror to redirect it in a different direction. I swear I'm not a GW rep , but my local store is only 5 minutes away, I've been swinging by for paints daily, and the manager keeps showing stuff off that is admittedly cool.

He talks with his hands too much, especially for someone sitting alone in a darkly lit room talking to a camera. You should only be waving your arms around that much if you're speaking in front of a crowd, are Italian, Argentine, or are a magician. And long-winded may be generous. That's a 9 minute video that says literally nothing more than "Scatter terrain is smaller pieces to supplement your major terrain and fill out the board; they don't even have to provide in-game effects and are sometimes added simply for verisimilitude." The video itself doesn't even have a whole 30 seconds worth of footage of scatter terrain, negating the entire point of using the medium. Dude does seem chill and would probably be nice to converse with, but he needs to either learn about editing or just write short articles if this is one of his typical videos.

Idoneth Deepkin: Fish Elves. Rejected children of the Elf God Teclis born with withered souls, the Idoneth use their reality warping powers, highly trained Nemarti shock troops and tamed sea-monsters to overwhelm and reap the souls of the undeserving land-dwellers. A tricksy faction, their Tides of Death ability gives an Idoneth force different bonuses depending on the turn number, rewarding careful planning and setting up for brutal alpha strikes when the time is right. Play Idoneth if: -You fancy yourself a Ham Napoleon. -Want to build an army consisting of murder sharks. -Have a high tolerance for Little Mermaid jokes. Daughters of Khaine: Morathi's personal murder gals. Bloodcrazed worshipers of the long dead God of Murder, feared by their supposed allies and their foes alike for their raw brutality and sinister blood magics. The definition of a glass hammer, Daughters of Khaine hit hard and fast but struggle to take a punch themselves. A successful Daughters player relies on good positioning, target priority and utilising the powerful buffs of their Hero units to pick apart the enemy before they can even hit back. Play Daughters if: -You've got a lot of dice and need an excuse to roll them all at once. -You really, really like snakes. -You need some practice painting skin-tones. Something like this?

Speaking of the daughters, checked the site and now the cauldron of blood is direct only. Which sucks but oh well, you can have a functioning army now since all their HQ choices (beyond the big girl herself) are part of that set. EDIT: Though now I have to figure out if the hag queen or slaughter queen is better on foot... Their "get started" kit that saved you 40 bucks is still out of stock too. EDIT EDIT: Nevermind, I was on the austrailian page. No wonder the troop slots were 90 bucks. Danimo posted:Tabletop Minions is like the nicest wargaming dad. Beastclaw Raiders: Big Angry ogres who can’t escape an endless snowstorm, so they ride on beasts to stay ahead of it. They are a crazy elite monster type army, which doesn’t really work out super well with objective play. The upside is they are one of the smallest model count armies in the game. Play Beastclaw Raiders if: - You love giant monsters, you can fit 4 of them in 2000 pts! - You don’t want to paint a lot of models. - You love killing all the models your friends love with snowballs from Thundertusks (They will hate those models so much). Ironjaws: Angry kill machines, Ironjawz are good at one thing and that thing is fighting. They really rely on their characters, but with a proper array of buffs/spells they become crazy powerful. They have good allies, as in they can ally all orcs and grots, so you get access to all the grot artillery which is great. Play Ironjawz if: - You want to paint some of the coolest orc models ever made - You want to murder everything in melee, and especially monsters! - You are ok with having your key models shot off the board by assholes with shooting Black_Nexus fucked around with this message at 19:22 on Jun 16, 2018 |

The Daughters want to use it to resurrect Khaine (by finding all his other shards and, you know, mudering enough people as sacrifices) while Morathi wants to betray them all and use it to become a god herself, natch. Lore seems to suggest that Khaine could rebuild himself if the souls actually went to him, but Morathi sucks them all up to fuel her own apotheosis so he's SOL. Blades of Khorne Muscle bound freaks of nature and zealous daemonic servants of the murder god. A wide array of point efficient heroes provides this melee oriented army a lot of buffs and special abilities, but don't expect to find ranged attacks or magic because those things are for puny cowards. An army that can be run as a horde of oiled reavers and minor daemons, or as a smaller team of elite blood warriors and heavy cavalry. A cool "blood tithe" mechanic gives you rewards or summons as you KILL. Play Blades of Khorne if: - You love painting red. And you love seeing red. - You want to be able to pick from an absolutely massive set of killy list building options. - You don't mind sitting on your hands during the shooting phase. Flesheater Courts The mad, deluded cosplaying cannibals of the Death hosts. Ghouls (or ‘Mordants’) are the remnants of people who resorted to cannibalism to stay alive when the forces of Chaos ravaged the mortal realms. Most of them have fallen under the sway of deranged vampire outcasts known as Ghoul Kings, who delude themselves into believing they are fine and noble lords, the ghouls their courtiers, and everyone else quarry to be hunted down and eaten in glorious “banquets.” How do they Play? Hordes! Flesheater armies tend to be composed of large units supported by heroes (the ghoul kings and their courtiers) who augment their hordes with powerful buffs and healing. As long as an appropriate courtier is nearby, dead troops can be replaced with fresh summons during your hero phase. This means that Flesheaters are a very resilient horde army, but are quite weak against opponents with strong ranged units that can snipe the heroes the army depends on for buffs and summons. Play Flesheater Courts if you: • Like large, regenerating hordes of fast, close-combat units that you can stack an obscene number of buffs onto. • Are very fond of pale fleshtones and smearing your models in bloody-red, but don’t want to play Khorne for whatever reason. • Want to play an army of deranged larpers. Disciples of Tzeentch Magical ISIS. Cults that worship the God of Magic, and the various daemons they summon. Extremely ranged focused, and some of the most powerful magic in the game. Can be run as a horde of human cultists all the way to a fairly elite army of mutants and sanity-damaging monsters. As an army special rule, they can "see the future" and essentially cheat by being able to switch out the result of dice rolls. Play Disciples of Tzeentch if: - You like magic. - You like the idea of transforming your enemies into gibbering masses of flesh. - You like bird motifs. - You're fine with the fact that most armies will beat you handily in hand-to-hand, providing they make it there. Clan Pestilins Diseased vermin seeking to spread the 13 holy plagues to one and all. A straightforward army to build with very few options, but characterized by a fun plague mechanic where you invoke a special effect every time you roll a natural 6 while spell casting. A horde army that needs large infantry blocks of 30-40 rats to have any kind of board presence, but fun despite these limitations. A play style that involves attrition, using your large blocks of infantry to weather the storm while your diseases whittle down the enemy through mortal wounds. Your heroes are backline supports who rush into combat in the last turn to finish off what remains. Play Clan Pestilins if: - You don't mind painting hundreds of little rat men. - You want every one of your heroes to be a wizard, a priest, or a wizard-priest. - You want to roll absolute buckets of dice in combat where you might have as many as 120 hit dice for a single unit (40 rats, 4 attacks buffed).
