Quick question, the Nighthaunt eternal spells say they can be cast by Nagash or a Nighthaunt wizard. Does that include Nighthaunt wizards taken as part of a Legions of Nagash army or is the faction keyword applied after the armies allegiance has been declared?

I will say too, if you’re looking to get started in the game, the last two years they’ve released 4 holiday bundles the first or second week of December. No reason to suspect it won’t happen again this year. They run about $170 but bundle about $275- 325 worth of stuff. Stormcast will definitely be one of the bundles along with at least one of the new elf factions. I’d suggest maybe dropping $40 for the two player box to get a taste of play and wait to see how the bundles shake out, rumors will probably start up in 2-3 weeks.

I’m case anyone missed the community site announced that the holiday bundles will be back this year, 5 for 40k and 5 for AoS, and they previewed the Idoneth one; Tidecaster- $25 A box of eels- $50 Two sharks- $90 Reavers- $50 Thralls- $50 So if they keep to the $170 price tag they’ve had for the last two years it’ll be a nice savings, especially if you can pick it up at your LGS at a discount.

The city state army lists are legacy content correct? In that their allegiances weren’t updated to include DoK or Idoneth in a GHB or anything. Also, what are people doing with their grimghast reapers? You only get 4 in the box and their unit is fielded in 10s. I can go on eBay but it’s $20 for four more or $38 for a box of 10. Artifacts and Command Traits are explicitly called out as only affecting the owners attacks, never the mounts or hangers on. I’m pretty sure you can choose whatever order you want for the attack sequence though.

The sexist pig part was implicit instead of explicit, many units had rules that gave you a benefit for doing something in real life, like making eye contact, insulting your opponent until they reacted or pretending to ride a horse. They’d pretty much all been removed as part of the first General’s Handbook. Oh the sexist part might have been the bonus to combat certain Empire units got if your real life mustache was nicer than your opponents and I think Dwarves got a beard comparison rule. I’m not really sure secret sabotage tracks, all the silly rules in the data sheets was stuff they’d have their Rogue Traders walking around asking people to do at the ‘for fun’ side events at Games Day and other events for both Fantasy and 40K. I think it was just a bad attempt at bringing that level of engagement to friendly games.

DoK are actually lousy for that. The Cauldron of Blood Kit is the only way to get three of the army’s HQ units natively. It’s why the kit and any box set that includes it are perpetually sold out.
