I used this guide to get some early funds and equipment to start. Pretty fun actually and introduces you to using mercenaries as you are a weakling at the start. Be warned this guide contains a few *spoilers* in the form of exposing locations on the map that you can discover on your own. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1508134396

You mean you don't carry a backpack made of sticks and linen full of rocks with a dead guy slung over your shoulder in your daily adventures around town?

Dandywalken posted:How moddable is this game? Im definitely intrigued by it. Is there a possibility for new races, combat skills etc? Moddable to an extent. The game comes bundled with mod tools which allow you to tweak numbers and attributes. It is possible to create new dialogue trees with new character/squads. The bundled mod tools also allow you to post from the tool to steam workshop, which is fun. New races are possible, but apparently a bit of an asspain to get working correctly. Skills are hard coded, not sure you can change those around. The ones that exist work well though. If you are interested in modding at all, check out the Kenshi discord. There is a pretty active modding community there. https://discord.gg/3A4Wump

You can smooth over faction relations but the same individual won't help you get the bounty off your back. Strip your guy with the bounty. Throw him over a shoulder. Then, make sure you’ve smoothed relations with the faction. Then, go turn him in and claim the bounty yourself. Then, bust him out of prison. Bounty gone.

Looking at my main base. Los Lobos Aceros are fruitful and productive. We make robot limbs, weapons, armor, grog, and hash for export. Can fully supply a 50 man army, and protected by rapid fire harpoon cannons, the Citadel is nigh impregnable.

Sounds like my playthrough. I found quite a few AI cores in the various ruins north (I think) of the fog islands. There are also economy mods which make them more common to purchase or make larger robot spiders drop them. Finally, the Ashlands has some NPCs which drop them as well.

So, I wanted to be able to add captured Broken Skeletons as followers using the Recruit Prisoners Mod. There is a long convoluted dialogue tree that you must navigate in order to "reset' the robot. If someone wants to know what they have to follow, spoilered below is the dialog tree. Each series of conversation topics give three choices. The list below includes the correct responses. The correct response could be any of the three listed. I dug through the mod in order to uncover this. #1 Choose Common English #2 Green, Red, Blue #3 Yellow, Beige, Brown #4 A, Z, C #5 Book, Tree, House #6 4, 32, 1 #7 36, 54, 22 #8 Bowl, Hat, Knife #9 Shirt, Light, Pen #10 74, 109, 96 #11 V, G, O #12 A, Z, C #13 B, X, R #14 Choose #^&@ English file note found - Jiko Ketsui Mode Enjoy your new Skeleton Recruit!

LuiCypher posted:Another thing to add - resist the temptation to savescum. I know I couldn't resist the urge when I started thievin', but after recruiting a decent posse in Shark and trying to snatch some blades from the Hounds, I decided instead of reloading that I would hightail it out of there with my new group of low-level/extremely specialized recruits. My ninja took an arrow to the gut, but we managed to book it relatively unscathed. The person I tried to steal from would not let that grudge go, however, so once they chased us into the middle of the swamp we turned around and beat them senseless. Now we're going to carry their unconscious body around in case we need to leave some snacks in order to escape some hungry critters. Yeah, I fell into the habit of savescumming on my first run through. It's much better to just let the game play out.

Since then I managed to escape and wandered north for a little bit until I looped back down to the hub to research/scheme. I'm starting to get the hang of this whole thing. I built my first base in that same location. It's a good spot. I used the moisture condenser mod to get water and built a few of those on a roof. Hydroponics is also nice.

I fell in love with Martial Arts after a failed raid on Stack. All my guys were captured. My MA dudes were able to get out and skirmish with folks. My weapon users were SOL, as the Paladins had taken their weapons. It was from that day forward that I decreed that no weapon shall ever be used (aside from crossbows). MA dudes are never unarmed.

I like the Mod Mindoor. I think that’s the one. It allows you to build miniaturized versions of ore smelters and stuff inside. You can buy a few houses in town and have an almost functional production chain. I find it really useful if you want to rebuild the Hub or have a base in Mongrel.

I then let my character go about their daily routine until they're swole while I read books and watch YouTube or something. Does this not work anymore?
