Weirdly free-range chickens do it more than caged ones, so enjoy that mental image the next time you buy free-range grass-fed eggs at whole foods, yuppies Pecking order is normal but today's chickens are loving crazy so they do it more in tighter areas. I slaughtered a bunch of my sister's friend's bird because they built too small of a pen for them. It was on the 4th of July.

a lot of pages ago, someone said something good about Obamacare. Obamacare sucks and has driven up prices because the invisible hand of the market is actually a gout goitered hand of some rich gently caress. Obamacare is what right of center puts forth to not seem offensive. 20 years ago, “good bennies” or more like “ok benefits” were 100% health insurance coverage from your employer. Now it’s some poo poo tier company self insure. What changed? The gov’t let the free market dictate what should have been a benefit of being a human.

Yeah, my benefits were fine at the beginning but then went down over time. By the time I left the company, it was at a point where the company was self insuring and to have a baby cost 4000$ out of pocket. They were telling people not to go to the doctor, lol.

I work in academia and middle management and the money is pretty good. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Also, I dunno but like all run ins with HR both corporate and academic have been pretty good and even handed. The corporate one I had more experience with helped me advocate for my team and work through stuff. Spineless middle management is the issue more than anything else in weird workplace boot licking. I see it frequently.
