Alas I found this thread far too late to mount a futile curiosity campaign for Saionji's route. Though I don't want the protagonist to date him, I'm curious what they did with him. Some in-depth Utena discussion currently going on elsewhere has managed to kindle some vague sympathy for him. He's terrible, of course, but Ohtori is not helping him at all. Can't imagine that a brief flirtation with Patter Song would be much help for his issues though.

I'm not sure this is the best way to make friends with Saionji but really this sounds like it's going to go wrong no matter what so may as well aggravate him.
