It's more likely that no one feels there's an convincing MMO that could be made out of Warhammer 40K. An MMO for Warhammer Fantasy barely worked. Other dumbass players with pets jumping around everywhere and no meaningful challenge in wailing away at sacks of HP. The world was gorgeous but the immersive part was cut right out.

The only good MMO is LotRO because you can see all the things you love if you love Tolkien’s legendarium. I got sucked back in due to needing COVID escapism and I just reached osgiliath for the first time. Gondor calls for aid, and I shall answer! They’re also doing a shitload of discounts and giveaways right now.

You could even make it so hilarious shitshows are part of the appeal - watching braindead AI trying to make it work like those pseudo-physics-based battle games. All while poo poo-talking each other's characters. It'd be the perfect podcast/social game. i'd play that. pixel starships has a pretty deep scripting system for crew members and ship systems. it'd be sweet to have a whole raid of goons you could program like that.
