OMG laminate cardstock is the worst medium. I can't even trace with pencil and go over it with sharpie, it's just free styling with the pen 100% here and not enjoying the results.

You can't use pencil on these laminated cards so I had to do the text in Sharpie four times before I finally got it to fit and look right!

Any suggestions on how to make my own cards? Someone offered to mail ones they'd made, but I think I might try digital art and have it printed and then cut the paper to fit. What size corner cutter would I need to replicate a playing card?

I received mine from the UK and mailed one off to Switzerland. I feel so international.

Also the UK envelope has a public service announcement for mental health on the cancellation stamp. Are you guys okay? Is Brexit taking more of a toll than we realized?

I think the current system is probably fine. We're having a little trouble getting the hang of it, but we'll figure it out.

And to the Goonette in California who got my February submission, I hope it's arrived. It went out from the corporate mail room 2 weeks ago and the fact no one's mentioned receiving it means I I shouldn't send personal mail from work anymore.

Actually, I'm not sure if anyone has received my last two cards.

I used to draw directly on a card but the laminated nature of the blank playing cards made that too difficult. Sharpies were all I could use and those are unforgiving.

Now I do it all digitally, print it on 110lb cardstock, and cut it down to size. Everything was looking like rear end when I finished my March card last night until I realized I imported the original 2000x2000 sized image into Photoshop at 150dpi. You need at least 300dpi to look good, even on a small playing card.

Right, I think I'm going to call time on this - whether it's from international-post fuckery, goons failing at basic communication, or whatever, cards don't seem to be making their way to the right places. It's been fun, and there have been amazing cards, but it's not fair on the people who send cards but don't receive anything.

The are other online groups if you've got the taste for ATCs. They have proper repuatation mechanisms and stuff you know you'll receive one.

If it was sharing art with goons that got your fancy, the fine gentlegoon readingatwork is setting up an Art~~Thunder~~Dome contest. Everyone should join in!
