Oor Coohoolie.
A thread for those of us who do music as a full time career/job, whether you be a teacher, a pub gigger, a DJ, a promoter, a sound engineer, etc. Share advice and experiences with each other here!

I make about £1300 a month, sometimes more, frequently less, with teaching and gigging. I teach through a UK company called MGR music; they push the search engine stuff so people find it, I charge £25 an hour, and they get £4 per hour from me. I currently have about 4 hours and 15 minutes of lessons a week on average, coming to about £110 a week, the rest is through gigs. I usually use the day to day teaching money as spending money and keep my gig fees in my savings account for rent and bills.

I'm currently hoping to work with an entertainment company based in another city to help them expand into my area and hopefully be able to add promotional work to my income tally.

I also host a traditional session in a pub every Sunday for some extra drinking money.
