Remember last year when some republicans put themselves in a cage and wore adult diapers? It was the quintessential Owning Of The Libs. That's TPUSA, an organization that is so widely mocked that it needs its own thread.  Turning Point USA is a rightwing Koch-funded organization that exists to fight for "free speech" on college campuses, ie. putting up a couple ineffective propaganda posters and then being mocked off of campus. Its two notable members are their founder Charlie Kirk, a man who puts forth the absolute minimum amount of effort required of him, and Candace Owens, whose gimmick is being a black woman and tweeting variations of "attention fellow blacks, not voting republican is the same as slavery". Sometimes they have Ben Shapiro do something or other. In reality it exists for Charlie Kirk to grift as much money from the Kochs as he can before they catch on to him. Somehow they still haven't.   Why should you care? Because they humiliate themselves on a daily basis and it's funny. A staple of theirs is professional quote making:       They also run professorwatchlist.org, a site dedicated to blacklisting professors who have vaguely left-ish beliefs. This hasn't really caught on because few universities are willing to fire staff for posting "trump sucks" on twitter one time in april 2016 on their private twitter with 7 followers. There's one of these TPUSA groupuscles at an area university. They advertised one event which was "meet a billionaire!" Wow! Of course he was some hedge fund guy who inherited his money from his dad and worked for the Koch network. I haven't looked at 'em that closely but they seem to mostly recruit from the church kid crowd. See the Mormon girls on the left with the long skirts. The black girl in this pic was the guest speaker who is some pro-gun Fox News personality and is probably destined for a job at the NRA.  Not a student but I have my network of local spies and if you look in the back, you'll see these two guys flashing the  handsign and one with a fashy 'do with his hair shaves on the sides. Those guys are junior fash and showed up at a campus socialist meeting which resulted in a fight breaking out and both of them getting tossed from the room. While that sounds menacing, it more buffoonish and funny.I don't hang around the campus but my spies tell me one of the TPUSA kids instigated a fight and then whipped out a camera to try and film himself getting tossed; the whole thing seemed to be an attempt to show the campus socialists "attacking" conservative studies, which the group could then send to the administration to try and get the socialist group banned (somehow). The video later made it on some Turning Point website, but it never went "viral" and nothing happened. But what was funny is that the socialist leader who tossed them is this shy, quiet, bookish kid and Turning Point made him out to seem like this die-hard revolutionary. They had this screengrab of him tossing the fash and all of that. So the local left scene was like "hey did y'all see that pic of X on campus tossing those jabronis? drat. He looks like Lenin."

We get the occasional TPUSA flyer-bombing at the university I work at, but they’ve dried up after the socialists got organized and started posting over them/actually got permission to post stuff by talking to the building manager. I know they (or another Campus CHUD Club) managed to get Milo here a few years back, which led to serious pushback against that poo poo from the student body after it became apparent that admin wasn’t going to do poo poo. Got to witness a great scene with one of ‘em trying to pick a fight with a random dude who was taking down their flyers about a year back or so. It’s incredible how fast he backed down once the person he was threatening actually acknowledged his presence.
