Keep in mind that at this point teams don't inherit the full 2018 cap hit in a trade. Patriots have enough space to pick up a decent player. Saints, Panthers, and Rams are pretty cash-strapped and probably can't make any moves without restructuring someone.
Patriots already dont have a 5th and a 6th so I doubt they will trade for a one season half season rental of Golden Tate.

Wow, a schismatic N/V thread, thanks Pope Clement.

Anyway, Bruce Irvin is also on the trade block apparently. Seattle would be a good fit, but not sure they'll be interested in the cap hit.

They wasted Luanne on Lucky!

She could of have been so much more but the writers just didn't care!
Last night's ESPN broadcast was one of the worst ever. But not because of the crummy game, or the terrible broadcasters. Rather they goddamn never showed replays! Wanna see what happened on that penalty? Nope! Here's 30 seconds of dudes standing around confused while we wait for the call or the ball to be spotted. Wanna see who really recovered that fumble? Naw, we're not gonna show that.

I didn't watch the game to be fair, but come on, football and baseball both have "breaks in the action" to show replays. Maybe during the 2 minute drill they'll forgo them if the clock is still running (or a really short one if that), but seriously?

It felt a lot like a preseason game, and had a bunch of incredibly amateurish 3d renderings.

It was already the worst because Witten is one of the worst broadcasters/commentators ever so this is just icing on that poo poo sundae.

The Rams have less than 2 mil in cap space and havent they also already traded away some of their picks for next year?

There needs to be an asterisk by Bledsoe's name as he was a Patriot for a while.

They can free up space pretty easily and they are only missing a 2nd next year. They should get 2 3rd round compensatory picks so their existing 3rd is expendable as well.

Apparently Shane Ray is a no because Wade Phillips doesn't like him, Albright thinks the Rams want Dante Fowler

They didn't even bother showing more than one angle of the "bills one-handed TD catch" until it was overturned, for fucks sakes.

Dude sold it as a catch.... from one angle. every other angle showed the ball going through his hand and hitting the ground next to him. Only showed after the officials turned over the call.

Quick Reads: https://www.footballoutsiders.com/quick-reads/2018/week-8-quick-reads

quote:

1. Watson:
In the first 40 minutes of this game, Watson only threw for three first downs. (Two of those were touchdowns, but still.) Then the Dolphins scored a touchdown that left Houston clinging to a precarious 21-17 lead. From that point to the end of the game, here is the result of every Watson dropback: 73-yard touchdown to Will Fuller; 49-yard touchdown to DeAndre Hopkins; 19-yard completion to Hopkins; 38-yard DPI on a throw to Fuller; 2-yard touchdown to Hopkins; 4-yard gain to Hopkins for a third-down conversion. Houston might want to consider mixing up its play calling though. Watson only threw two passes on first down all night. One of those was on first-and-20.

That's awful. Some games they are really good at showing all of the angles and slowing down the replay to the exact moment and zooming in on the foot or ball. It's like the replay is being directed by a seasoned veteran composing his life's work.

Then other games it's like the ball is playing peek-a-boo and no matter what angle they try to show, you can never see anything.

There is that, but that wasn't the case. Went and found a gif of it-they only showed the angle from the back on this play, where it looked like he caught it because you couldn't see anything at all. Then "touchdown" gets overturned and they show the other camera angle...

https://twitter.com/BradleyGelber/s...-anderson-yikes

There's a lot of cases where yeah, you can't see poo poo because there's 15 bodies piled up or whatever, but this was just lazy as gently caress programming, as Jiminy said.

To be slightly sympathetic they showed it once and went to commercial, and since it was so easy to overturn it took the refs no time at all to say "nope, that's not a catch" once they reviewed it.

But I strongly suspect ESPN has a standing order to not give you the definitive replay until announcers have pored over and discussed the bad views first.

If Drew throws for 450 yards the Saints lose. If he throws for 250, then they likely win, although in both cases it'll have little to do with Brees' arm.
