A package was retrieved from the post office in record time for this time of year! (Then I durdled for a day before writing this post...)

No pictures of the box/packaging as I opened it at work to make it easier to get home on the moto.

Roughly top to bottom:
A photo book with blurb on ~40 luxury cars.
Mini bottles of whisky (Glen fiddy and Balvenie).
A massive stack of coasters advertising Kavalan whisky.
A note explaining the contents with a bonus poem :D.
A movie/music combo about/of the eighties music scene in Manchester.
Season 4 of Black Adder.
A precision screwdriver set.
An 8mm ratcheting Wera spanner!

Thanks heaps Slothrop :D. In response to your note bicycle stuff is weird, most bolts are internal hex or torx and the stuff that isn't tends to be speciality tools. Tools are always useful though, the screwdrivers will fill out my indoors toolkit. The moto/car use plenty of 8mm driven bolts in stupidly narrow spaces so something with a fine ratchet and that fancy double engagement open end will definitely be useful. I definitely wouldn't want to return anything, I hear bunnings is a pretty dangerous place these days :v:. Also I think I broke the case that the screwdrivers came in by launching off speed humps on the way home, thankfully the booze survived... Your op shop haul is great as well. I've had a squiz through the book already and I'll be working through the movies over the break. I do like older UK comedies, I just haven't watched much Black Adder yet so it's about time I rectified that mistake.

Got some time today to open my package!

What I initially received didn't give me any clues as to contents - well, it would have done, but I removed the address label/slip for photos without actually looking at it, turned out when I was tidying up the customs declaration would've given the game away, so I made a lucky decision there!

Customs declaration? Yup, look closely, this is :australia: packaging:

And what's inside, but something from one of Australia's best exports:

(Bonus Rodney the 2Sexy conrod sticker)

This is a really nice book, it's a rundown of the history of MCM's cars, but they've put some effort into it with some proper quality paper and printing:

A mysterious box appears from a far-off land.

Completely loaded with stuff:

Tag on the stuffed dogge - the answer is yes she does:

A gorgeous Christmas card:

Tenuously? AI as hell in my book!

A layer deeper:

Delicious illicit goodies - my kid literally started jumping when I showed her the Kinder eggs:

Landrover swag and something that I have no idea what it is:

Screwdriver light, awesome Hot Wheels, and vintage SA swag:

This one is going to work. That cover photo is gorgeous already:

A giant stack of stickers for the ex-proving-grounds lockers, along with more Kinder toys and a couple of Honda Motocompo models:

Another stack of magnets:

A bunch of UP Garage brochures / magazines?

And a (not very) tiny human very excited to show off the parts of the gift she can claim as her own:

Thanks, InitialDave! This was awesome and you are awesome.

Glad you like it! Couple of notes:
- The license plate frame was given to me by Commie years ago, but I've never got myself anything I can run a US-size plate on (we have specific rules on this), so I figured someone who does should benefit
- The "don't know what it is" are bar snacks from the Sapporo brewery in Hokkaido. Try having them with a craft lager.
- The red tube is a 100% genuine Jay-Dee-Emm road flare... case. I wasn't brave enough to get myself added to a no-fly list by trying to get the actual flare out of Japan.
- Dogge is an Andrex puppy, stalwart spokescanine for every Brit's favourite bog roll.
- UpGarage magazines are just freebie things they have in store, I think some of them have adverts for their in-house J-Pop/grid girls group as well. Lol Japan etc.
- The big magnets are the required Japanese signage for "I am a young/new driver who can't drive worth a poo poo" and "I am an old bastard who can't drive worth a poo poo". Fun fact, the former remains in "spring leaf" guise, but the latter is now more an "all season passed" theme, because the previous "autumn leaf" design came with unfortunate connotations of "about to drop".

She's been a full on trooper about it - I was ten times the pain in the rear end when I broke my toe a few years ago. The one thing about this whole process that brought her to tears? The urgent care offered her liquid ibuprofen, and she seems to have the same reaction to liquid medicine that I did at her age.

So, Santa SomewhatHeroic, the answer to your question is...

Maybe.

Thanks dude, this is a nice haul, especially the JIS drivers to finally round out my "I own old Japanese vehicles," toolbox. The packaging leads me to believe these might be impact drivers too but I can't read the language of Glorious Nippon so I guess that leaves me only one way to find out. The Blipshift gift cert will certainly get used though you've taken one hell of a risk here, I too am barely capable of dressing myself properly.

The mint flavoured chocolate is already adding itself to my goony fatness and while I'm sure a lot of people will fawn over the GT-R, I for one, think the Unimog is awesomer, I've always wanted one.

And finally, thanks for the :10bux: This is one of the crispest notes I've seen in a long time, and I suppose I will have to get a new avatar since FedEx didn't charge me anything for the delivery.

I’m so glad you got your gift! I was worried about Canada Post making it on time even with priority shipping and we use FedEx at my work all the time and it’s delivered in one business day which is pretty great. I couldn’t get any answers on if there is a ‘handling’ fee or not, some places said like $15? Other places said none so I went the safe route of reimbursement if applicable, and if not needed you can get rid of that awful red text and/or avatar and/or beer?

The drivers are actually impact type! I figured that would be good for old Japanese steel needing persuasion. Americans love beating on Japanese steel with hammers.

There was something magical(!!!???) in my mailbox on my arrival home from work. I have not yet opened it but will shortly and report.

A cornucopia of hand tools awaited me. Either I have posted more than I remember or this Santa of AI has personally rummaged through my tool set to know what I actually need. A Wera blade screw driver, a nice set of small jewelers type drivers including some very small TORX sized drivers that I actually need for my 1/5 car, and quality set of Vise Grips. This was me... This have been so crazy for me that I didn't even put in a note. The second part won't make it before Christmas, but I'll get it to you. Glad you liked the micro drivers, they're not Wiha/Wera quality, but they should be perfect for RC. The roundel (come on, you're supposed to be a BMW superfan, gotta get the terminology right :v: ) is from a junkyard E30's steering wheel and has been in my "random car stuff" since ~2003. Ditto with the turbo emblem, iirc, it's from a Volvo 740's grille. The Wera driver is to get you hooked on their handle shape, so you'll deem all others to be inferior, and you'll spend all your BMW money on screwdrivers instead. Vise-grip because, well, vise-grip! It's not a Peterson, but the new ones still work pretty well. Merry Christmas!
