I think they're mostly republishing contributions from members of said third parties, which are mostly libertarian. I see the convoluted Constitution Party drama is sourced from that blog. for more American party mania, Politics1 is pretty comprehensive

Prohibition Party has its nomineequote:On April 14th, a meeting of the Prohibition Party’s national committee was held by conference call. The committee had to select a new presidential ticket following the resignation of its initial presidential candidate, Bill Bayes, on March 30th. The PNC selected Connie (C.L.) Gammon as its new presidential candidate, and Phil Collins as its new vice-presidential candidate. C.L. Gammon is the only presidential candidate that is not controlled by alcohol, gambling, and tobacco lobbyist. Gammon is the only REAL family values candidate.

OK, so now I think it's time to do a rundown of the Green Party race. https://twitter.com/GreenPartyUS/status/1232038652651474944?s=20 Dario Hunter is the radical Pete Buttigieg. He's a black rabbi who won, and then lost, some extremely minor seat in Ohio. He is to my estimation in a strong 2nd place and spent much of the last year orchestrating a slew of procedural complaints to try and ratfuck the Green Party primaries of all things. Sedinam is an extremely woke nobody I know little about other than they seem to have a lot of intersectional cred. Kent Mesplay is such a nobody I haven't even heard of before. He has 47 twitter followers. There are a whole crop of maybe a half dozen candidates of this caliber that will pop up on ballots in different states depending on local bylaws. Howie Hawkins is the clear frontrunner. He's Bernie Sanders with better politics but none of the charisma. He's an ex-teamster who co-founded the Green Party, actually knows how to run a campaign, and authored the original Green New Deal. He is utterly hopeless in the real election because the core of the Green Party has been torn asunder by the ratfucking and also a huge swathe of the Green volunteer base is going over to Bernie. It probably won't be the weakest Green Party campaign ever but he's not going to put up Nader or Stein numbers unless the Democrats try to suicide bomb the left by loving Bernie in Milwaukee.

Fuzzy McDoom posted:Howie Hawkins is the clear frontrunner. let's make it a clean sweep "Howie hype posted:Hawkins, who is a co-founder of the Green Party, will be seeking nominations from multiple parties that range from progressive to socialist. In addition to the Green Party and Socialist Party USA nominations, Hawkins will be seeking the nominations of state-level independent progressive parties with ballot lines, including the Peace and Freedom Party of California, the Progressive Party of Oregon, the Citizens and Labor parties of South Carolina, and the Liberty Union and Progressive parties in Vermont. Liberty Union was the first party with whom Senator Bernie Sanders ran for office.

I've been watching the Free & Equal Elections open presidential debate, which is really dry and too difficult to see in one sitting, but not bad to put in the background while working. It's in two parts because there's like 18 candidates divided between two debates. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3s2QbAoXms4 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fqqXWxo6XL8 My takeaway is that 3rd party candidates are the usual fringe activist/loony types- even Howie Hawkins comes off as unpolished and unclear. Funnily enough, Vermin Supreme has the most forceful and perhaps charismatic personality, he's obviously having fun but he's also in favor of some good common sense policies and I'm glad he does his gonzo presidential runs

god loving dammit Coronavirus May Keep Third Party Presidential Candidates Off the Ballot Come November quote:Hawkins said on the Yahoo News podcast “Skullduggery” that the Green Party may be unable to get on the ballot in as many as 30 states — including Illinois, Ohio, Wisconsin and Pennsylvania — due to state laws requiring third parties to collect thousands of signatures on ballots to qualify. Hawkins said it will be impossible to meet these requirements in light of White House guidelines urging citizens to stay at home and avoid social gatherings. Coronavirus restricitons create problems for independent party candidates seeking a place on the fall ballot quote:The signature-gathering period ends June 22.

Preliminary reports suggest Jo Jorgenson is the Libertarian nominee.wiki posted:Jo Jorgensen (born May 1, 1957) is an American academic and libertarian political activist. She was the Libertarian Party nominee for vice-president in the 1996 U.S. presidential election as the running mate of Harry Browne. She was also the Libertarian nominee for South Carolina's 4th congressional district in 1992, receiving 4,286 votes, or 2.2%. She is currently a candidate for the 2020 Libertarian nomination for President of the United States. I would cite policy positions but I can't get her website to load.

Bob Avakian and the Revolutionary Communist Party, U.S.A., which "has never run its own nominees for public office, nor has it ever before made a recommendation as to whom people should support", has now urged voters to do thisquote:At this critical hour, every appropriate means of non-violent action must be utilized to remove this regime from power. And if, in spite of mass protest demanding the removal of the Trump/Pence regime, this regime remains in power when it is time for voting, then—without placing fundamental reliance on this—using all appropriate means to work for the removal of this regime must include voting against Trump (assuming the election is actually held). To be clear, this means not a “protest vote” for some candidate who has no chance of winning, but actually voting for the Democratic Party candidate, Biden, in order to effectively vote against Trump. https://twitter.com/therevcoms/status/1290317695322214400
