Fun fact: according to this podcast episode on Howie Hawkins I'm listening to, as a freshman at Darmouth in 1972, Howie Hawkins campaigned for 30 year-old Bernie Sanders when the latter was running on the Liberty Union Party (Vermont-only socialist party) ticket for both governor and senator. Bernie ended up at last place in both races at around 1% and 2%, respectively.

Sick of the lame VP debate? The Free and Equal Foundation is hosting a third party debate tomorrow, and Howie and Gloria are in it (no Jo, though): https://freeandequal.org/second-presidential-debate-2020/

This is a pretty bad debate productions-wise. Bad audio quality and technical difficulties. But hey here's Cindy Sheehan as a guest questioner rambling on to ask Brock Pierce something about war or something

Drama arising from the Party for Socialism and LiberationPSOL posted:Controversy in the PSL as notified by this document. On the online leftverse, I’m seeing mixed reaction and some are even calling it a psyop. No matter the validity, the document does have high amounts of accurate and plausible statements and information. The statement on the party growing and thus being unable to properly vet members or enforce party rules are plausible. The treatment of Cadres vs affiliates could be seen as plausible. And what is a good scandal without some creep making everyone uncomfortable and burning out new members. Perhaps the most damning thing is the inneffective centralized nature of the PSL putting up walls for proper procedure.

https://twitter.com/WSJ/status/1351722397003640832 https://twitter.com/PoliticalLurke1/status/1351719011482931200 Seriously, a quick search reveals a ton of preexisting tiny far-right parties with that name which exist as websites only. Some of them are paleocon groups that were probably created in the '90s back in the Constitution Party's heyday and when Pat Buchanan was a big deal. https://patriotparty.info/ - looks TimeCube-like. FAQ mentions the Spring-Gravity Theory, Humanology® - the science of understanding human nature, and is a "non-profit Florida Corporation". Seems adjacent to the Natural Law Party. https://patriotsparty.net- founded in 2020, looks like one of those vague nonpartisan blandly liberal centrist fiscally conservative parties. https://www.officialpatriotparty.org - now we're talking. Slick web design and militaristic-looking eagles. Blog entries about Planned Parenthood, COVID-19 origins, and refugee caravans. The first MAGA party site so far. http://www.americanpatriotparty.cc/platform/ - most worth checking out, for that sweet sweet late 90s/early 00's bleeding-eyes web design. Politics1.com says the APP was established in 2003, "supports a crackdown on illegal immigration, making English fluency a requirement of US citizenship, abolishing the IRS and repealing the federal income tax, imposing steeper taxes and tariffs on imported goods ... oh, and they want every county in the US to become a separate state", and they endorsed Ron Paul in 2008. Their site endorsed Trump for 2020. So yeah Trump is gonna need some help finding an URL that hasn't been taken up by one of these obscure online-only "parties".

Bonus: there was a https://www.patriotparty.us which is now gone and parked by GoDaddy- but it has been archived by- the Library of Congress itself?!? https://www.loc.gov/item/lcwaN0011640/ I think it was just the original website for the aforementioned paleocon-Ron Paulite APP.
