When she tweeted about a Green New Deal, I kind of got a small crush on AOC more than when she’s just using a stepladder to dunk on CHUDs. I had dreams of that being the way we recovered from the Great Recession- using government funds to spark domestic solar panel manufacturing, paying people to install them on the roofs of residences and office buildings, and pumping cash into renewable energy R&D. If she can rally the Dems into making a huge push for something like that, I’d be so loving amped.

I quietly pulled my roommate and the drummer aside and told him that if anyone ever pointed a real gun at me again and pulled the trigger, they had better hope it was loaded and it killed me or else I would club them both senseless with it once I got ahold of it. The gun never made an appearance again. Both of those guys grew into being really solid and nice people; I’ll chalk it up to a momentary spate of dumbassery.

I was just at my hipster car dealership in Northern Virginia and I overheard someone who probably works at DoD in procurement or logistics having a loud cell phone conversation in a place where they shouldn’t have been talking about how Trump may declare a national emergency at the border to prompt the military to build the wall to get around Congress.

Here's a seriously  article from WaPo about how with a rebel defeat looking all the more likely, Assad's regime is escalating the pace of executing its prisoners. There's satellite pictures that show prison cemeteries growing increasingly full since the beginning of 2018- which is basically when the regime managed to push out the last rebel bastions near Damascus. Sednaya Prison, the main prison in Damascus, is directly visible from the presidential palace. I really do hope that someday Assad dies a horrifying violent and bloody death, and lives just long enough to realize what's happening to him. He and his entire family are monsters, and deserve the worst of what fate has to offer.
