Yeah, I meant 'difficult' for the casual adblock user to pinpoint since it's got a bunch of actually necessary features laid over the top of it but not difficult-difficult.

One of the best days of my life was when I was about 4, we'd just moved into a new house like 3 months previously (how I know the general age) and they were developing the lot across the road and I watched 3 successive and increasingly macho-looking 1970's tow trucks get stuck in the swampy mud they were building on as they tried to rescue the previous tow truck. They finally got a semi tow truck to come yank all of the failed trucks the ~300m out to the road. Would still appreciate now, 40 years later.

16 year olds can drive literal cars to places you can't monitor. People who can drive cars are adults in everything but the difference between which jail they'll go to if they kill someone while doing it. Perhaps you should stop snooping in their internet use at this point.

If there's creepy guys on the internet perhaps the real solution is to stop letting guys grow up to be creeps.

If you're responsible enough to drive a car, which can kill someone, you're responsible enough to participate in the internet if you want to.

Well you're wrong obviously, because 16 is legally a child whether you agree with it or not.

Also I was under the impression the parents were actively allowing her selling porn drawings on Tumblr, which if that's the case is bad parenting, but from what Rhyno is saying it sounds like the Mother is the one allowing it. If dad isn't around much it's hard to know exactly what's going on so i can see why he would be freaking out.

How on earth can you be under the impression that X or Y is happening when the only report any of us has had is
"I think a girl I don't even really know is doing something on the internet" - Rhyno

16. Very introverted. I don't even know if she has any IRL friends. Any time I've gone over there she's been shut away in her room. She's definitely a bit odd as she spends a lot of time drawing overly sexualized cartoon characters (the tumblr connection). I guess she sold commissions through there and made a few bucks here and there.

"A teenage girl who ignores me, there must be a problem" - a 40 year old man

"I'd better speculate on a complete stranger's sexual life and start making judgements!" - other 40 year old men on the internet

You're obviously not a parent, but you should still be able to remember when you were a teenager and could not be completely trusted with everything. It's not up to the child, it's the parent's decision to make, period.

You're correct, I'm not a parent - I only have it from the "I would have been disgusted to find out that my parents' acquaintances were discussing my personal life with a bunch of random strangers and making weird assumptions based on knowing literally nothing about me" angle that I would have had when I was 16.

These things shouldn't be that hard to understand.

No, that's how people grow up to be adults because they can apply the understanding of responsibility and trust that operating a car entails to other ventures instead of having their parents run in to "help" them with all their important decisionmaking as they reach adult maturity.

Quick googling shows that cars don't typically drive on the sidewalk.

Another quick googling shows that people riding bikes typically aren't idiots who have never piloted their vehicle before who are staring at their phone trying to make their pedaling app work.

my ring is platinum and I take it off if I'm going to do anything manual. It scratches fairly easily but the nicks and dings are all part of the character. Up side it it probably won't ever break.
I cannot stand watching people play sports in jewelry, it's only going to end in some sort of horror catastrophe like has already been mentioned a few times.

Work Xmas party is tonight. Haven't done anything work-related all day except talk about what we're doing for the pre-game.

That's some Resident Evil 2 stuff there, you'll need to make your way back through the usual 40 traps and puzzle doors that any standard apartment building has in it to find the last piece to unlock the next gate.

Genius move on the cops' part - lets set up a spike strip in the middle of a bunch of parked cars in a residential area. What's the worst that could happen?

Hope everyone that got hit has un/underinsured coverage because I seriously doubt the Cobalt's policy is going to pay on that (assuming it was insured at all/not stolen) and the cops' qualified immunity will indemnify them and their department from liability.

Best part is the guy was probably wanted for some fantastic crime like "Failure to pay child support" but it isn't every day the cops in Castle Rock get to deploy the spike strip DHS gave them to counter the ISIS migrant caravans etc. that pop up in rural Maine

Yeah, all those mass shootings that don't happen in the UK are sure burdensome to their kids who aren't being murdered I bet.

One of the more amusing parts of gun fetish culture and the unfounded fear that everyone needs to be running around like it's the final circle of PUBG at all times is that cops in the UK, unlike their US counterparts, have actually come into contact with terrorism at some point in their careers. Ever hear of the IRA?
