Man, the on-screen stuff is funny stupid garbage. (Comparatively)
The off-screen stuff just makes me think 'all of this has contributed to making them a global entertainment superpower, they seldom suffered any consequences for any of it, none of us can do anything about it and it makes me wonder if there's any point to actually being a good person'

A lot of the on screen stuff isn't funny. I get no laughs from women, gay people and black people being humiliated because Vince's sense of humor is hosed. I've not listened yet but hopefully Vince essentially humiliating Chris Kanyon into suicide makes it.

I know some people laugh as a coping mechanism in some weird ironic thing, but I've found that I sorta hate that poo poo. It's one of the reasons why I stopped watching WWE; if I have to treat your product like I'm on an episode of MST3K to get through it, that's not good. Wrestling is already ridiculous, if I have to add a layer of irony to enjoy it, that means they hosed up.

This is loving stupid. I didn't start watching wrestling because I needed a dose of camp, I wanted athleticism, spectacle, and fun characters.

That is a good perspective to take.
But for me, listening to the podcast. Listening to MRT and Epistasis list down the 32 backstage offenses WWE has done makes this side of the bracket actually look like MST3K in comparison. Which is the real point I was trying to make.
Which is hosed and sad.

I can't even enjoy wrestling on an ironic level anymore. WWE has ruined even that for me. I just want to see the fuckers responsible suffer consequence. But that won't happen because we're being devoured by an amoral void.

Went with the Bryan thing as I will likely go with the worker's rights issues almost everytime as a reflection of our grotesque Oligarchic society.
As awful and needless as the Hogan thing is it didn't directly gently caress up somebody's life/career.
I don't think.
And at least it led to the glorious schadenfraude moment of Hogan doing his whole bullshit crowd pandering thing to dead silence at Crown Jewel.
I'm certainly not going to be mad if Hogan wins though.

Not sure who is more to blame for the Hogan thing.
Hogan for being a huge racist.
Or HHH for going out of his way to enable him.
I mean if not for HHH, HH would just fade into obscurity and irrelevance.
Good thing nobody can be arsed to hold WWE to any kind of moral standard.

Voted for developmental abuses because gently caress Bill DeMott and gently caress HHH for enabling him.
If Harley loving Race is pissed at you for abusing people under the name of being a hardass, then you are an apex shithead.
HHH probably heard a bunch of gross road stories from Flair (and others) and just thought it was the coolest poo poo ever and saw Demott as a callback to that.

And of course, beating Booker cleanly with a single pedigree wasn't enough.
No...no...the pedigree had to be for a loving 20 count because HHH intentionally sandbagged and dragged rear end to make the pin.
Oh and let's not forget that they destroyed Goldust's heat during this span by giving him the dumb stuttering gimmick, just to make sure the earth was completely salted on Booker's popularity.

My mindset towards this tournament is more or less two things. Deeds > Words and Business > Personal.

Hawk was tasteless, but unless you want to directly trace it to Hawk's demise (I wouldn't blame you if you did), it was ultimately just words (and a dumb bump).
Beyond the words, HHH actively damaged two careers (Booker and Goldust) because he's an rear end.

I think they went the same way with Chuck Palumbo, Motorcycle Enthusiast in the mid 2000's.

But then Chuck became more verbally abusive and Noble became more sympathetic.

Goldust was as much product of its time than an explicit sin of WWE.
Society as a whole was still adapting to the notion of homosexuality being genetic and not a choice. 'Gay Panic' and 'Toxic Masculinity' were social concepts that were at best in the fringes of the collective social conscience.
Things started to chill out after the first year or two. I say 'started'.

I still voted Goldust mind you. Having a character reinforce the notion of gay=evil was still very hurtful regardless of social attitudes. Katie Vick was just gross and stupid, I'd go as far as to say that this should have been NITed.

GRR is going to massacre the Titan bracket except for Maaaaaybe OTE continuing. And I will mash the vote button on it until it's out.
Warrior Award and Melanie Pillman are going to get into a knife fight and I think Melanie will win but I hope the Warrior Award will win.
Owen and Crown Jewel are destined to fight in The Stamford Bracket with Owen probably winning. Personally I want "Independent Contractor Status" to beat both, but that's probably not happening, as I lean towards systematic issues over isolated issues.
I would be surprised to see the Ring Boy scandal get under 70% of the vote in any of its matches in Greenwich bracket. Usually I would favor "Talent getting paid pennies on the dollar" here but Jesus, it's like if Penn State rehired Sandusky.

Either Owen or the Ring Boy Scandal will win. I want either GRR, Independent Contractors or Getting Paid Pennies to win, but that might be a hot take.

For me GRR is worse than Crown Jewel.
At least with Crown Jewel, WWE was forced to downplay the Saudis and nix the propaganda, which I'm sure from MBS's viewpoint was the really important part anyway.
