I voted Trump in this round, but your argument might be enough to make it a dark horse candidate for the whole tournament. No other option has such a far reaching effect, though Trump likely would have won without the millions and millions of WWE dollars.

Championing Trump is loving gross but we all knew the McMahon family were a bunch of lovely racist conservatives. There is some really gross and abhorrent poo poo in that bracket and while I may be taking a leap here, I think the developmental talent abuse is way worse and the ring boy scandal is positively abhorrent. Christ having a 64 news story bracket of all the lovely newsworthy things they've done over the years makes me really need a shower over having a network sub.

ONE person who has worked for several Wrestling companies over the decades said to me today that

a) Tony Khan wants WCW Nitro - obviously Tuesday Night Dynamite, negotiating with TNA etc.

b) It will be like WCW if Eric Bischoff was Ted Turner's son.

Both of these seem like monstrous red flags.

I voted for underpaid workers. WWE sets the market price. If they pay their talent an appropriate price then everyone else has to step us as well.

Was just randomly reading 1997 Observers and came upon this letter after Austin's neck got hosed up from the piledriver:

Good to know that less than 2 years later, in a match with one of those same participants, WWE would conclusively answer all those questions and how they would react during a PPV when something awful happened.

Your post definitely skewed me towards picking Owen so thanks. The other reason I picked Owen's death was because there was a much larger culture of rampant steroid abuse in the 80s, 90s, and early 2000s that was systemic in Athletics. MLB didn't have any real drug program in place until about 2006 and while I can't remember what the NFL had (if anything), I can't imagine it was good. I wouldn't say I'd give WWE a pass, but steroid abuse wasn't their invention whereas Owen's Death is 100 percent on them forcing a guy to do a dangerous stunt that he didn't want to do.

I'm really not sure where this fits on the scale of disgusting poo poo they've done but that's pretty loving monstrous.

True, he and Asuka should be included.

IMO, Asuka is less her and more Japan's cultural obsession with Nazis, rear end backwards as it may be.

I guess what I'm getting at is does the context of Japan's Blaise attitude to Nazi imagery factor in and weigh this down?

If we're insistent on this then you need to add Zahra Schreiber and everyone other racist that ever worked for the company and that's a long loving list.

I assume he was talking more about Asuka's reputation for being stiff given I had asked about Low Ki

Ah yeah maybe. My bad.

Are we really adding people for being stiff when we already have Bob Holly? Like, the guy is a benchmark for hurting people deliberately in the ring. That seems....I don't know. If we're already at that point maybe we do 32 instead of 64?

I agree, it loses a lot of luster, and focus

I think that just trying to narrow a field of people makes it difficult because of how lovely the industry is. Additionally, you have Vince who's the elephant in the room. A lot of these super lovely people? Vince hired and in most cases, enabled them. How do you hold a tournament like this where Vince isn't the winner? Does Vince hold more weight than Mel Philips because he enabled him and gave him access to young boys?

The more I think about this, I think we should just kinda shelve the worst person in WWE/Wrestling.
