Live streams are primarily meant to be watched live, they aren't for Captain Invictus or CJacobs to watch after the fact. Making your live stream archives be a better experience for people who don't watch them live is backwards.

I hate the donation stuff way more when I watch streams live. With vods I can skip that stuff.

The way fighting games control with the motions just feels really unintuitive and clunky to me. I like smash a lot too so it's definitely the.controls that are keeping me from getting into them.

But whatever, not everything has to be for me.

This lady makes half a million dollars a year from artist tutorials?! preposterous, that is simply ludicrous, she's a decent artist but she doesn't deserve that sort of income from drawing high-res pictures of lola bunny or jessica rabbit and making tutorials.

etc

people on the internet are bad and telling them how much you make(oh lol as I typed that I immediately was reminded of the Skullgirls kickstarter for Squigly. Remember that? Remember the outcry, 180,000 DOLLARS FOR A SINGLE FIGHTING GAME CHARACTER????!!! even with an in-depth totally reasonable breakdown of the costs there was still massive backlash) just gives them even more things to be lovely about

Everyone in Finland can find out each other's taxable income just by contacting the tax office and it works out fine

finland is not the internet, and letting internet dipshits know what sort of money you make only leads to trouble.

Finnish people do in fact use the internet and have just as many dipshits as every other place.

All the top earners get published in published in newspapers too so you can literally just look at an internet site to find out how much anyone who earned over 100k€ actually got. Looks like my boss made the cut.

from personal experience shitheads on the internet if they know how much money you made from something you did as a job and did not consider it worthy of that income will be extra super lovely about it

like when I explained the whole Valve sending me a 1099 tax form because I sold so much stuff on their marketplace, people(specifically: goons) came out of the goddamn woodwork to call me a money launderer, scammer, man of dubious morals etc because they did not consider what I did "normal income", or work worthy of making a lot of money. Same thing with like, doing reviews for toys/comics/etc, or drawing fetish porn for patrons, or playing video games for a living, you can't tell me you've not heard anyone say that's ridiculous that they can make a living from that.

Their exact income should be their business unless they choose to share it. Why does everyone need to know?

lovely people are going to be lovely no matter what.

It doesn't really apply here, but in general people knowing each other's income is a good thing because it makes it harder for employers to gently caress over workers since people know what their salary should be.

Dias posted:

Having access to everyone's taxable income is probably a good thing - we have this in Brazil if you're a public servant, you can also get tax info somewhere for the general public - but I don't think Patreon being public really works the same way. First, because it's not necessarily income - there are a lot of Patreons that are FUNDED by their patrons, so that money goes towards other costs. Second, because it does tend to generate toxicity and expectations of a certain influx of content, which not every creator can or is even aiming for. I feel like being a patron means you are supporting a creative endeavor, and everyone works at a different pace and all.

Isn't it still taxable income even if you can deduct the other costs from the taxes? or am I confusing some english terms here
