https://twitter.com/realdonaldtrump/status/1000718611688943616?lang=en Running the government like a business sometimes means hirings and firings. In today's high octane administration, the gates to the White House grounds are permanently open to accommodate the high turnover. I don't know who all of these people are, but if they're good enough for the NYT they're good enough for me. you should see Bloomberg's list. Your task as an expert politics poster is to predict the next Senior Figure to leave the admin. Senior Figures are not very well defined, so just be reasonable. Make it a person reasonably close to Trump (so no Pence or Melania staff) who he could fire if he worked up the courage. They should be high up enough to be worth caring about, so no Ambassador to French Guyana or Decoy White House Taste Tester. Unofficial positions are probably fine, if they even exist anymore (Steve Bannon would have counted for example). Acting positions are not, since I've decided they don't count. Reasons are unnecessary, so long as a resignation or firing is announced. Movements within the admin are ignored (eg, Pompeo from CIA to COS would not count). Remember that Kelly, Nikki Haley, Mattis (and Zinke) are already out, and anyone who I forgot has already loving resigned too. We're all reasonable people, so long as you try to stay within the spirit of the rules we can have a little fun. Simply post your pick, and I'll keep an eye on the news. As soon as someone's choice is officially announced as leaving (even with a future departure date), that person will win, everyone's selections will be cleared and we'll start over again. For the first round, since who knows how many people will want to participate, you may NOT pick a person who has already been chosen. If enough people are in, we'll just have folks select a week if they want to share picks. All I request is that we don't have 4 people waiting to snipe an announcement 3 hours before when we all know it's happening, because that's no fun. Feel free to also post any trump admin fanart, like the New York Post's WH Survivor graphic at the top. For the first one at least, I'll put up an avatar cert for you (or a person of your choosing I guess). tldr rules: -Pick someone unpicked before. -Must be someone who Trump can get rid of, and important enough (some leeway is fine, be reasonable). No Acting X positions until they are properly confirmed. -Example: Would be allowed- Kellyanne Conway, Linda McMahon, Rudy Giuliani, Robert Mueller. Would not be- Mitch McConnell, Nick Ayers, Newt Gingrich's Current Wife -Round ends on announcement, not departure date. -Be good. Current Guesses- Labor Sec Alexander Acosta (Basic Poster) NSA Advisor John Bolton (Reality Winner) HUD Sec Ben Carson (Eat This Glob) Transport Sec Elaine Chao (Mr Hootington) DNI Dan Coats (A Handed Missus) Education Sec Betsy DeVos (kolby) Army Sec Mark Esper (Lum_) CIA Dir Gina Haspel (Lawman 0) NEC Dir Larry Kudlow (Charles II of Spain) Son-in-law Jared Kushner (Loutre) WH Staff Sec Derek Lyons (Fallen Hamprince) Treasury Sec Steve Mnuchin (tubamortis) SBA Linda McMahon (seiferguy) OMB Director Mick Mulvaney (mastajake) Homeland Security Sec Kirstjen Nielsen (campfire) Energy Sec Rick Perry (Mayor Dave) Sec of State Mike Pompeo (Xelkelvos) Commerce Sec Wilbur Ross (Bananasaurus Rex) Press Sec Sarah Huckabee-Sanders (The Glumslinger) Army IG Leslie C Smith (Wrenever) President Donald J Trump (twit666) VA Sec Robert Wilkie (A Big Fuckin Hornet) FBI Dir Christopher Wray (Jose) Deep State President Hillary Clinton (Business Gorilla) Quotey has issued a correction as of 23:57 on Dec 22, 2018 |

Quotey posted:not counting Whitaker because he's acting and we also know he's being removed! I'd say the first improvement would be a list from who to pick from rather than guidelines. Here's the Cabinet and Cabinet level list (for reference): Pompeo - State Mnuchin - Treasury (also CoS?) Mattis - Defense (leaving) Whittaker - AG (acting) Zinke - Interior (leaving) Perdue - Agriculture Ross - Commerce Acosta - Labor Azar - HHS Carson - HUD Chao - Transportation Perry - Energy DeVos - Education Wilkie - VA Nielsen - DHS Lighthizer - US Trade Rep Coats - Director of National Intelligence Haley - UN Ambassador (leaving) Mulvaney - OMB Haspel - CIA Wheeler - EPA (Acting) McMahon - SBA Edit: Some other notable positions/individuals Conway - Counselor to the President Miller - Senior Policy Advisor Kushner - Senior Strategic Planning Advisor Kudlow - NEC Director Bremberg - domestic Policy council Sanders, S.Huck - Press Secretary Schlapp - Strategic Communications Director Bolton - National Security Advisor McGahn - Counsel Giuliani - Legal Advisor Sekulow - as above Kasowitz - as above Ayers - VP Chief of Staff More: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Political_appointments_by_Donald_Trump Xelkelvos has issued a correction as of 19:01 on Dec 21, 2018 |

White House Staff Secretary Derek Lyons. as Staff Secretary, Lyons is uniquely powerful in the trump administration, as he has direct control over whether or not a given document reaches the president. a career GOP hack who replaced Rob Porter after the latter got shitcanned for being publicly exposed as a wife beater, Lyons is a shoe in for resignation as the last few traditional Republican collaborators in the trump admin flee on the ratlines to K street.
