I made a map from a heavily edited Greyhawk Map. It was originally intended for a hex crawl game for Roll20 , but it never got off the ground but a few times. Anyway it was a lot of work.

There's just like no skills like alchemy. There's like 18 skills total. No blacksmithing either. Basically 0 trade skills. Also wizards get 2 skills ..that's it.

That kind of sucks because if you want to be a wizard who does alchemy in order to get proficient with the tool you have to take the background.

Like I can't be a wizard charlatan that knows alchemy

LMAO played tonight and literally faced a TPK twice in the adventure. It was just 3 players tonight and we had no fighter / tank type person so it was just a thief a bard and wizard versus a cave bear.

Hey, anyone got some suggestions for tokens that would be used for visual aids for a in real life game. Seems more affordable than miniatures. Unless there's some super cheap miniatures out there.

Counterpoint: I've found it fairly simple. Any time there's a skill check, make the skill and DC make sense for 5e; any time there's combat, build an appropriate-difficulty encounter. I'm using an old module for my current campaign, and it generally takes less than half an hour per session to make the changes, though I'm pretty used to it by now.

Alternately, there are, I think, literally hundreds of 5e conversions on DriveThruRPG/DMsGuild.

Oh so there are old modules for fifth converted?

I wouldn't exactly call them affordable, but if you really don't want to put in the work of converting Castle Amber yourself, they will have you covered.

Yeah I went to their website and didn't see them on there at all.

They are sadly out of print as their deal with Wizards ended.

As mentioned earlier some older adventurers have already been converted to 5e in some anthology books.

Tales from the Yawning Portal contains the Sunless Citadel, Forge of Fury, Hidden Shrine of Tamochan, White Plume Mountain, Dead in Thay, Against the Giants, and Tomb of Horrors.
Ghosts of Saltmarsh contains the Sinister Secret of Saltmarsh, Danger at Dunwater, Salvage Operation,
Isle of the Abbey, The Final Enemy, Tammeraut’s Fate, and the Styes.

The upcoming book Quests from the Infinite Staircase contains another 6.

Okay I'll look for those thanks! I wanted ghosts of saltmarsh.

They are both deliberately written so that is extremely inefficient for PCs. It takes 20 days to craft an uncommon magic item, and 200 days to craft a rare one.

Yeah the example they give is make plate armor and it takes 300 days. It's absolutely ridiculous. It goes in 5 gold piece increments. So like using a simple alchemist kit and try and make alchemist fire it takes 10 loving days. Just to make a single vial.

I wanted to have a wizard that made potions and poo poo and its like "loving nope".

Just no loving options.

I dunno what adventure we are playing because I don't want spoilers but I can say that almost every loving fight our group has went in against has been a chance to just total party kill every encounter. Maybe fifth edition is just really deadly at beginning levels but its kind of ridiculous. Doesn't help we're playing Thief, Bard, Wizard, Barbarian with no healing available.

The bard has no healing spells at all. I don't know why they didn't take any.

People just picked what they wanted to play. There wasn't like a discussion on what people were playing.
