2019 is coming up, so it's time for a new resolution thread!

Post your resolutions for 2019! In January I'll hide this thread in the vaults, then next December we can bring it back to see how we did.

If you made a resolution last year, that thread has returned! If you made a resolution, check it out!

Curses from all directions!
Apparently I forgot to make a resolution last year. Not that I was really able to accomplish all that much game-wise, but still. So, without further ado:

1) I will make a resolution this time.
2) Get into a playable state at least one of the drat rulesets I've been working on.
3) Resurrect the localtype game sessions for more than just one-shots.

Out here, everything hurts.

1. Run a motherfunking tabletop game. I've been jonesing for it for like three years now and not making it actually happen.
2. Get this game in my head to at least the prototyping stage.
3. Get the rest of these Space Wolves painted. No starting anything new until I have a full 2k force at tabletop standard.

Enough sideburns to last a lifetime.
May as well keep the resolutions going.

  1. Continue sculpting and release at least one miniature for sale this year.
  2. Post up playtest rules for my skirmish game and get player feedback.
  3. Finish a table’s worth of terrain.
  4. Get our fearful terrier to let me take her to a training class.
  5. Start up a campaign and play at least six sessions.

I think I can manage these.

(Everyone should try these, they're surprisingly easy to achieve :P)

I don't think I have any specific goals right now that are tradgames related. I'm pretty happy with how my tradgames life is shaped right now, and whilst I have some ideas, they're not firm or guaranteed enough to be resolutions.

Except maybe for running or playing in an RPG that isn't D&D, PF, Shadowrun, or a LARP sometime this year, but it's not like I care much if I don't, so...

4) Learn Te Reo Maori enough that I can hold a basic conversation.

You know you didn't have to go post that, right?
But it's fine, I guess...

You just keep being you!

Since I failed to paint one model a week last year, somehow painting none at all, I aim to paint at least one a month this year.

I failed to join/re-join an RPG group last year. I... Won't make that a priority this year. It'd be nice, but I need to get something done about my mental health first, and I can't trust the NHS to sort that out by the end of this year if the responses I got at the end of last year are anything to go by.

So, right, 12 models to be painted, at least, this year.

RPG:

1. Finish testing that RPG I've been working on for years.
2. Run Symbaroum. Somewhere. I really love this game.
3. Write some more for my long legacy campaign project I keep procrastinating on.

GENERAL:

1. Lose some drat weight. At least 10lbs. More would be better.
2. Cut back on the soda (related to #1)
3. Get off my rear end and do some kind of exercise (also related to #1).
4. Finish my book and send it to a drat publisher already.

I didn't post in last year's thread, but I did have a resolution that I utterly failed (#2 on the "General" list).

I would also still appreciate some danger.

1. Finish assembling & paint up my most intimidating models: a metal Exorcist launcher and a FW resin Baneblade
2. Lose more weight and beat my last 5k time
3. Run a session of Twilight 2000

This might not be the thread for it, but I hope this works out for you. Don't totally give up on the NHS but there's always things like Headspace and stuff to look out for that might help in the mean time.

Mental health first, games second is advice we can all get behind. Good luck.

• Get a regular RPG group going, and play something that isn't loving L5R.

• Play Agricola. I won't have my Secret Santa gift go unplayed.

• Start a Patreon for all the half-game ideas in my head, and release at least a couple of things.

• Weigh less than I did at the start of the year.

• MOAR DRUMMING!

• Get a better day-job.

• Have the weird bits of my heart removed with ice. Or LASERS!

- Paint up a second BF&S army.

Non-Gaming Related
- Get a new drat job
- Start riding my bike again regularly

In order of difficulty:
1. Run a tabletop game with my friends that lasts more than 3 sessions (should be easy now that they've moved in together)

2. Put a serious effort into making my own game.

3. Build up enough money for a new desktop.

4. Get A's in all my classes.

5. Build up enough money to move out of my parent's house.
