Italy now officially in recession. Although one analyst says it's technically never not been since 08:

I can only assume Salvini is desperately scrabbling through Benito's autobiography for tips

WaPo this morning said that you can sense an almost desperation in the way di Maio and Salvini are throwing poo poo at Macron in order to prevent them from shittalking each other's parties ahead of the Euro elections.

I see the Democratic Party is the same in Italy as it is in the US. Pelosi is Italian-American now I think about it, so I guess she's keeping tradition alive.

Within our territorial boundaries, we had a lot of coverage, yeah.
I'd like to know what's the media coverage elsewhere, in Germany for instance.

No malice intended, I'm just trying to understand which narratives are being spun from this fact.

Kinda hard to read most of them because they paywall (stingy fuckers) but the majority of them are basically reporting this as the Nutty Racist Salvini being At It Again with a subtext of "Europe needs to stop ignoring the refugee crisis." Then there's Bild (the fash paper) asking why she chose Italy, with the fade out before the paywall box implying she's doing it to deliberately stoke tensions between Germany and Italy.

What is Zingaretti like? He seems like he means well. Is he being hamstrung by the Renzi wing of the party, or is he just as useless? He seemed to have done decently in the Euro elections, given the state of the party when he took the wheel.

I guess maybe the fascists are trying to gaslight the idea of trump being a brain rot piece of poo poo by putting out fake memes that can be disproved, thus disproving all criticisms of trump stupidity..?

Yeah, turns out it was fake. I would make a pithy statement of "this just shows how dumb trump is that many of us believed it" but frankly sharing fake news isn't great even if it's funny.

That would have to be Fred Trump, who could barely squeak by if the elections are at the end of the year (he turned 35, the minimum age required to be POTUS, on October 11, 1938). As a Klan sympathizer if not member, he definitely would have allied with the Axis.

He was arrested in 1927 while present at a Klan riot where he was charged with failing to disband when ordered to by police. Given the two sides were the KKK/Mussolini supporters on one, and antifa the other, I'm gonna guess he was in the former camp.

Just looking at the recipes for both, Parmigiano has a whole lot of special requirements (like previous evening milk with morning milk, or 55C temp) whereas cheddar is just throwing some rennet at a bowl of milk and calling it a day. Can easily see why the latter is easier to get decent.

They put out an update later saying that someone else had stolen them and when the Czech authorities found them they wanted time to investigate the shipment to figure out which scumbags did it, but after speaking with the Italian diplomats agreed it was better to send the masks to where they're needed urgently rather than try and figure out who tried to steal them.

I hadn't heard about this serac collapse (British politics has been a little hectic the past week) but that seems pretty devastating, particularly as Draghi says it's climate-related. Extra worrying given this forecast from a few days ago:
