Boston, Providence, Hartford, Portland, and the other big cities in New England are pretty blue. Head out of that and you're in conservative country.* I grew up in Northern Maine & joked that Maine is just the Yankee version of Missouri, which isn't far from the truth. *this could be said about any part of the United States IMO.
