Your track definitely leaves a lot of room for the vocals. Without knowing what's supposed to fit there, I'd say it does a good job outlining chords and marking the tempo. I might dial the reverb back a little bit. If the style allows it, it would be really cool to hear an instrument doubling up with the vocals in the second verse, or even some kind of countermelody.

Just the Arcade in that one. I recorded a jam about twice as long, then chopped out the parts that sucked and arranged it for better buildups. There's a couple spots that use crossfading, but no multitracking.

Finally had time to get into the basement and record a new track. I apparently can't make anything short or simple anymore, this drat thing is ten minutes of... electric alt-country?

I have absolutely no idea how to mix or EQ or anything, and am going off of what feels right. The problem is that this does the job when I have a 4 track song, with bass, drums, and 2 guitars, but this thing had 21 tracks and it feels like its too... big?

Anyway, y'all are great, thanks for enjoying my hobby with me!

You might want the lead that comes in at 5:00 to be more prominent in the mix. I didn't pick it out on my first listening.

I've currently got (counts).... holy moly, fourteen albums/EPs on Bandcamp, so hopefully you'll find something you'll like! If you're not sure where the hell to start, I'd say try Ononharoia. Or, the newest pair just came out two days ago, Lazarus taxa 1 & 2.

1 . Scratching that DEVO itch with a tinge of MSI thrown in. Extremely blessed.
2. Not a fan of vidja game style music, but if you are, you could certainly do worse! Plus I have never heard of “shmup” as a genre, and now I have. Learning is fun!
3. Again, well-crafted, but just not what I twas expecting when you said “house”. That could've tainted my listening. I'm an old fart with 90's NYC house mixes on cassette tape, so take my review as you will. It's like a 90's house song had a baby with a gaming console. Might be your bag!

:kimchi: No worries about number three. That's probably why I didn't get picked!

I'd also toss in some tracks for a fundraiser album. Cats is good. :sympathy:
