Come! We must fly!

Sun Ra was a jazz musician who claimed to have come from Saturn.
Along with his Arkestra, he released many albums with titles such as "We Travel The Space Ways" and "Strange Celestial Road".
Most of what he recorded had a smooth, relaxing, yet intriguing sound which resonated with those engrossed in the counter-culture of the 1960s and 1970s.

I myself am not a huge fan of jazz, and would probably have only given Sun Ra a cursory listen, if I had not first heard his spoken-word album "Strange Worlds In My Mind (Space Poetry Volume One)":

If you're going to listen to only one of the suggestions I've linked, I recommend the last one.
