Cybernetic Vermin posted:the main issue with 5g is that 4g is so freaking good, very hard to see the use. i use 4g for my home internet these days, solid 40 mbps, ~10ms latency, all rock-solid. the handful of meters of wifi at times involved is more trouble than the 4g. like 3G before it, 4G is terribly now that all the proles are on it when the real 5G is working they should charge an extra $20/mo to use it so it stays fast for us rule 36'ers

I really don't get this type of thing. do they really think they're gonna win some hearts and minds somehow and then the average punter is going to rise up and demand that the fatcats in Canberra/Wellington allow Huawei to supply components?

isn't mmWave going to be much more susceptible to antennagate style issues? maybe we should go back to little antennae on the top that you cal pull out for better reception
