Wrestlemania 32

There are worse Manias, but none are as intolerably boring and nightmarishly long as this. This was the show that cemented the Endless WWE PPV into legend. It doesn't help that the NXT Takeover the night before was so amazing because there was no way in hell this would ever work.

Zack Ryder wins the IC title and then is promptly kicked back down to the bottom of the card in a feel-good moment to try and temper the crowd for the horror to come. Jericho beats AJ Styles in Styles' first Mania match because go gently caress yourself. The League of Nations (remember them?) beats the New Day because gently caress you and enjoy New Day getting it's rear end kicked by Foley Rock and Austin.

Brock wins a dogshit Street Fight against Ambrose because of course he was. Then you get the pleasure of a half hour Undertaker vs Shane match, the longest loving match on the card.

Oh and then the wonderous main event, where HHH and Roman fight in a “Whoever Wins, We Lose” match. Mania ends with the crowds thunderous boos at Roman muted while the announce team scramble to try and cover up the remaining sounds.

NWO Souled Out 1997

The NWO angle was white hot so how about giving them their own PPV? The idea sounds interesting but it ends up being 2 hours of Hall, Nash, Bischoff and Hogan blowing each other in the ring while the faces look like giant morons. poo poo match after poo poo match is mixed in with mindblowingly awful segments like a horrific Miss NWO pageant with Biscoff groping biker chicks, and Bischoff basically proposing to Hogan in the middle of the ring.

Great American Bash 2006

NIGHT OF LIVER ENZYMES.

Multiple matches don't happen because WWE actually took drug test results seriously (read: they loving has to). Khali V Taker in a punjabi prison match aka the entire loving reason for the punjabi prison match isn't shown so we get Big Show in the worst shape of his career V Taker instead. No Bobby Lashley but the heel vs heel match replacement kinda kicked rear end though.

In general this show is 2006 in a nutshell and clear showing of why that year sucked so monumentally hard.

Would you be my new best friends?

Speaking of 2006:

December to Dismember: This is the show that basically got Paul Heyman temporarily fired from WWE after they decided to blame him for the show that THEY put together. They only announced two matches because they felt the Elimination Chamber being the main event would be a draw in and of itself. They matches they DID put on, outside of The Hardyz vs MNM, were complete non-events with guys whose names mostly feature as trivia questions in the misc section of WWE history. The main event was an Elimination Chamber match where Big Show defended the ECW Title against CM Punk, Hardcore Holly, Rob Van Dam, Test and Bobby Lashley. Lashley was getting a rocket strapped to him and they did everything they could to make his victory as impressive as possible, but it was still a huge let-down. CM Punk and RVD had some of the only physical interactions they ever managed to get in ECW despite being tailor-made to feud against each other, and CM Punk was also the first eliminated. Test eliminated Hardcore Holly, then Test eliminated RVD. TEST ELIMINATED RVD. Lashley eliminated Test and Big Show was the last to enter, basically making it a singles match for the title which Lashley won.

Heyman did a quick taped promo at the start of the next ECW saying,"That's it, I'm done. I'm going home" and he left, after having apparently gotten into it with Vince after the show and having to be escorted out of the building, and that was basically the end.

No other show will ever compare to the sheer misery of this show. Its not just the awful matches its watching broken old men scramble for a payday and make mockeries of themselves. A handy dandy list has already been created

E: ah hell, let's point out two fun ones.

Victory Road 2009 - Matt Morgan couldn't be dragged to a mediocre match by Chris Daniels. The best match was Stevie Richards bumping everywhere for Abyss with a fake taser. The infamous MINUS!!! FIVE!!!! STARS!! Jenna Morasca/Sharmell match. Kevin Nash goes over AJ Styles clean. Earl Hebner races into the ring and counts a pin before James Storm, who was right next to him, could get in to break up a pin. Tazz is Samoa Joe's mentor.

Destination X 2009 - Ultimate X was the only good match. Everything else was trash. A 100% green Brutus Magnus debuted and Eric Young had to job to him. Abyss falls into tacks. Daivari cuts a promo before James Neal, in his navy uniform, throws him out and sings God Bless America with cue cards. One Night With ODB. Samoa Joe has a dick painted on his face. Samoa Joe/Scott Steiner went a minute. AJ/Booker for a fake title. Joe murdered Scott Steiner. Dudleys/Beer Money was a count-out. Heel Angle against face Sting with Face Jeff Jarrett as ref and Face Mick Foley as 'enforcer'.

I am proud to have been at attendance at WCW Fall Brawl 1998. Looking back, it's really the prototype of what all WCW PPVs would become in short order. Lots of matches with no heat that were never announced or built up on TV. Interference in literally every match, no matter how far down the card. Main event of crap because none of the wrestlers are willing to do any jobs.

That was weeks later, the debut was bad because it was mostly poorly booked matches with atrocious production values and terrible celebrities.

Each of the WWA PPVs is terrible in its own way.

The Inception is a horrible tournament where every match is a gimmick match (including a Tits, Whips and Buff Match) and the booking is a mishmash of Vince Russo ideas and Jeremy Borash execution. Bret Hart also talks about 9-11. Easily one of the worst of all time.

The booking slowly gets less dumb but the shows get duller, until they do a Lex Luger vs Sting title match on a show and it goes back to being a huge clusterfuck.

Wrestlemania 2

After the very first Mania was a mega hit and saved WWF there was obviously going to be a second one. This time though Vince had the idea of having the show split into three locations, each location getting their own special main event. In theory this would make the show a massive event and get Vince money from three gates. In practice there were, of course, numerous technical issues as well as very obvious issues in how to even frame a card around this.

See the main problem was the card was already not great, we're in the early 80's Rock and Wrestling era and no one can argue that we were going to see technical or even semi-technical matches so at a base level we're not going to see awesome stuff, the issue is that even by those standards the show sucked rear end.

New York gets first go around and therefore the shittiest end of the stick with a Muraco/Orndoff match ending in a double countout, a below average Randy Savage win over George Steele who spends most of the match with a giant boner for Ms. Elizabeth, a passable Jake Roberts match and then our main event.

A 13 minute BOXING MATCH between Roddy Piper and Mr. T. Holy poo poo do I even need to tell you it was bad?

Chicago next and let's see if we get anything better.

Moolah keeps the women's championship in a nothing match, a loving flag match where Volkoff loses in 2 minutes (btw the Moolah match was less than that), and then probably the most remembered match on the card.

A WWF/NFL rumble. It was....okay? I guess and it's cool to see a ton of mid 80's NFL dudes in the ring with 80's wrestlers and Andre is always a blast to see in a battle royale but the fact that this is the highlight shows how poo poo this show is.

Admittedly the show ends with a pretty decent tag championship match between the Bulldogs and The Dream Team so Chicago actually made out pretty okay.

Finally we land in LA for the last few matches.

Steamboat wins over Hercules in a pretty meh match, and then Adrian Adonis fights loving Uncle Elmer in a "Of course this sucks poo poo" match. Then a pretty weird tag team match with the Funk Bros. vs Junkyard Dog and Tito Santana so yeah that happened.

Finally the main event is a cage match with Hogan against King Kong Bundy. The next Mania Bundy is a gigantic joke so you can already tell this doesn't exactly hit 5 stars. It's....a Hogan match. You know it, you've seen it and it sure as gently caress ain't worth sitting through this whole show for. The biggest issue is the poor fucks in the arena can't see anything due to the cage being horrible for visuals.

Guess who wins?

You are correct about the Mania, Fixed.

Every WWE Bash sucked in some way or another, 2006 was just the strangest due to all the missed matches.

2004 gave us a very early Cena win to retain the US title as the first match so that's actually something to watch. Then....Luther Reigns (who I literally have never heard of before) beats Charlie Haas so...cool I guess.

Rey Mysterio beats Chavo, Kenzo Suziki against Billy Gunn then....Sable....

Holy poo poo this show is loving bad

Who the gently caress is Mordecai? He beats loving Hardcore Holly.

Finally people I know where JBL and Eddie fight in a ....texas bullrope match.

Then Undertaker literally murders Paul Bearer for absolutly no loving reason after he beats the Dudley Boyz.

Dear loving God, Fastlane 2017.

The show where they:
-continued to gently caress up Sami Zayn’s booking
-thought it’d be a good idea to kill a combined 20 minutes (excluding entrances) on Cesaro/Jinder and Big Show/Rusev, both of which were bad matches
-killed Braun’s heat by not doing a Taker interference spot in his favour/letting Roman pin him clean
-killed Charlotte’s undefeated PPV streak ON THE PPV BEFORE WRESTLEMANIA by not calling for a DQ when Sasha interfered + letting Bayley pin her
-most stupidly, fed Kevin Owens to Goldberg after a Jericho distraction spot, directly leading to the Lesnar reign of terror

Some of the most boneheaded booking decisions in history were made on that very show

This is a tough one but I think an argument could be made for Starrcade 97 purely for the main event.

Sting has not wrestled for more than a year, he's made appearances now and then but he's been absent from matches. The NWO run roughshod over WCW and Bischoff in one of his moments of legitimate genius stretches out the Hogan/Sting fued that's been bubbling in the NWO angle for a year. This leads us to the biggest show WCW ever did.

Now, logic dictates that Sting will kick Hogan's rear end at the start, the NWO or some other bullshit happens and then Hogan takes over. Then Sting will heroically fight back and win by a hair and the world will rejoice as Sting stands in victory over the beaten NWO.

Instead, Sting gets his rear end kicked while Hogan looks like the biggest badass ever. Sting gets slight offense in before he gets pinned. A fast count was supposed to go down but the count was instead a very normal, even slow, 1-2-3. Bret Hart comes down, grabs the mic and mumbles "Notgonnahapenagain" in the first of approximately 600238239 attempts to feed off Montreal and then Sting wins.

The title is taken off Sting on Nitro because WCW was a loving dumpster fire.

Since you mentioned Uncensored, allow me to nominate Uncensored 1996. Starts off with a decent enough Konnan vs Eddie Guerrero match for the US title, and a Finlay vs Regal match & those 2 could never have a less than good match.

And then it starts going off the rails with Colonel Robert Parker vs Madusa which was too long at 4 minutes and the result of some really dumb angle where Parker spent a lot of '95 courting Sensational Sherri & then they were going to get married when Madusa attacked Sherri claiming to be Parker's husband I think? It wasn't good and was actually worse than the interminable WWF Alundra Blayze vs Bertha Faye feud. You then get 16 minutes of The Booty Man (Ed Leslie) against DDP who wasn't quite as good as DDP got yet. That's followed by The Giant against new Dungeon of Doom recruit Loch Ness Monster (UK wrestling's Giant Haystacks) in 2 & a half minutes which was the longest of the 7 Loch Ness matches in WCW. Haystacks was 50 years old and over 650lbs and this was his last match for WCW as he was about to be diagnosed with cancer which would later kill him. Meanwhile The Giant is still green as hell so it went about as well as you'd expect.

There's then a tag team Chicago Street Fight with Sting & Booker T against The Road Warriors which I remember nothing about and then the main event. The Doomsday Cage match. That's three cages stacked on top of each other. On one side you have the Alliance to End Hulkamania: Ric Flair & Arn Anderson from the Four Horsemen. Lex Luger. Dungeon of Doom members Meng, The Barbarian & The Taskmaster Kevin Sullivan. And two new recruits: Z-Gangsta (Tiny Lister, or Zeus from No Holds Barred) & The Ultimate Solution (who was an absolutely huge dude who looked like Bane & ended up playing Bane in Batman & Robin. Also when he debuted he was called The Final Solution & after lots of complaints WCW changed his name & claimed they weren't aware that it was a term used by the Nazis for their genocide of the Jews. WCW everybody.). All of them against Hulk Hogan & Randy Savage. Two against eight. Ridiculous convoluted match structure with the faces starting in the top cage and having to make their way down through the absurd structure, except they eventually end out on the scaffolding outside the cage & then down onto the floor. The Bootyman makes a run in to give Macho & Hogan frying pans, because this Pay Per View just didn't have enough Ed Leslie on it.

It's genuinely one of the worst matches in wrestling history, but is also the sort of thing everyone should see once just to understand quite how much more fun absolutely diabolically bad can be to watch than just mediocre.

Wrestlemania 2000

Now by all accounts this should have been possible the biggest Mania of all time. It's the year 2000 baby! It's in the title! Let's forget Y2K, put on our worthless 2000 novelty glasses and watch some wrestling from the Attitude Era!

We start with possibly the biggest blown spot in Mania history. We have a battle royale for the Hardcore title. As we are in 24/7 era the gimmick of the match is there will be multiple pins and multiple champs and whoever holds the belt wins. See what was MEANT to happen was Crash Holly gets pinned but the match ends right before the 3 count and he retains. What ACTUALLY happens in the ref fucks up royally and Hardcore Holly accidently wins the title . This also leads the best part of the whole show where Bob calls Cole a little shithead for no reason and JR tries to cover for it.

T&A beat Head Cheese (Al Snow and Steve Blackman) in a horror show of a match. It is one of the worst matches in Mania history, like it's abysmal.

We then get severe whiplash from going from that to a mind blowingly awesome ladder match between the Dudleys, E&C and the Hardyz. Holy gently caress, I actually came close to not putting this show here just because this match is that loving good.

Even MORE severe whiplash when we go to another nightmarish match where The Kat fights Terri with Val "What the gently caress am I even doing anymore" Venis as ref. Who loving cares who wins

Chyna and Too Cool bear the Radicalz because I suppose her push still sort of exists and she's popular enough to make the new guys humble because that's how Vince works.

The other really good match of the night then happens where Angle, Jericho and Benoit go for a match where each fall counts for one of Angle's titles, European or IC. Great technical match and another reason to watch the show.

Kane and Rikish beat DX as part of the Kane and X-Pac feud that helped to fuel X-Pac heat, it's an okay match

Then the McMahon in every corner main event because what everyone was begging for that. Big Show loses first because he loving sucks rear end at this time. Foley loses next but he at least gets some good shots in and a good pop. Then Rock loses when Vince turns on him and joins HHH and Steph for literally no reason. Like, it makes not a shred of sense.

It's nowhere near the worst Mania but drat this was the main event for 2000?
