My dad told me once that the radio totally spoiled the Empire reveal, at least where he lived at the time When I went to watch TFA some rear end in a top hat kid spoiled the Han death which sort of sucked but oh well

The use of the name Vader dates from a stage of drafting for the original movie when the hero straight up had a normal (Jedi) dad who was alive and everything.

From my understanding George Lucas's first wife was heavily involved in the first three movies, cleaning scripts up and giving ideas on how to tighten it, along with batting down his wilder ideas because they wouldn't work with the tech at the time. Then between that and the prequels they got divorced so everything after that is purestrain George

A fun read if you're ever bored is Splinter of the Mind's Eye, the book that was written between ANH and ESB. Luke and Leia definitely have a bit of a romance going, and Han & Chewie are completely absent, because they hadn't gotten Harrison Ford to sign on for the sequels yet

It's kind of the "default state" of the Force until beings tap into it to wield it. It's not a "light side" so much as it's just what the force is until it becomes polluted. The Dark Side is a corruption of The Force that happens when it's wielded contrary to the Will of the Force for vulgar selfishness or aggressive violence.
