(old rear end thread that I'm stealing a bunch of poo poo from) Mordhau's back and it's better than ever baby!!! A couple of days ago they announced the release date, which is the April 29th! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nFpoDlH6Sxs  Mordhau is an upcoming multiplayer medieval combat game in the vein of Chivalry: Medieval Warfare and War of the Roses. It also features large-scale battles, mounted combat and siege warfare similar to Mount & Blade. It promises an impressively fluid, free-form combat system and extensive customization options, with the ultimate goal being to strike a balance between gameplay and realism while avoiding the pitfalls of the genre. The game is currently being developed by Triternion, a small international team of developers.  When will it be released? in like a week holy poo poo!!! Which systems will it be released for? Keep a cool head and keep on practicing. Some newbie tips: -Wear T3 armor when trying to practice things. Keeps you alive longer. Even someone who's cleaving through rookies has to stop for a moment to deal with someone in full plate. Also, wear a loving helmet. -Learn to parry late, and learn to parry the top of people's weapons, not their torsos. -Learn dragging/accelerating. It's the "turn your hips" part of the tutorial. Moving your mouse while swinging your weapon will allow you to connect attacks faster and from better angles. -Learn weapon ranges and arcs! Always try and stay just out of reach of swords, or try and move real close against hafted weapons likes spears and pole-weapons. Footwork is super important, try not to ever be standing still! Probably not. But maybe! I've been keeping up with the game for a while, and I don't think the developers will cut and run as readily as Of Kings and Men did. They can't have been hurting too bad through development, as they rarely sold keys to get into the early access and only sold as much as they needed to get new blood in to actually test the game. I'm all for changing the name but can we please do something that's not just "This Game + This Game + This Game!!!", that poo poo's lame as hell lol. Feel free to toss out suggestions and someone can petition a mod if they really want the title changed, I don't mind. I'll do more for the thread once I get my hands on it. Thankfully the game will apparently only be like 30 bucks which is really going to help get a bunch of new players in I feel, to help drown out the Sword Gods that will be blendering across the battlefield. Yeah I don't doubt that this is going to last a while, especially becauce you have turbogrogs like me who will just sit there and enjoy swinging a sword around for the hell of it. I still boot up Warband after all these years to knock people around, Mordhau is going to be my jam for a long loving time. I'll petition a mod when I get home to give a title change. I'll also spice the OP up a bit when I can get my hands on the game. there's a lot of voice work put into this game. I'm not 100% sure there's a dedicated scream key but there 100% is buttons you can press to yell at each other

It's not really like For Honor at all and the closest game it's like is Chivalry so maybe??? I killed a guy and grabbed his sword and killed another guy by throwing it, and then immediately uninstalled to keep the match fair. I'm doing my part!

Yeah if you didn't play Chivalry that actually might make you enjoy the game more, you might not associate it with the shitshow that was later-life Chivalry. The only thing it has in common with For Honor is sword thangs and bomb-rear end customization

Most of the time when I'm cleaving through people who refuse to hit right-click it's because I'm trying to push an objective or point, or trying to actually make my way to the good players in the back who are doing the same to my dudes. The problem is the people who don't block are also the same people who run head-first into the enemy spawn constantly so it only looks like I'm good at the game when I'm really just trying to left-click spam my way out of the pile of bodies throwing themselves at my team lol not to say swarm tactics don't work. That's what you gotta' do to take those golden gods down, start hucking poo poo at them, swarm them with shield guys, etc. 1 v 1 is a fool's game. the mordhau reddit's been pretty dope on average, plus the devs read it a lot so I'm hoping not too many lies will be told e: someone says you get a speed bonus after sprinting for a few moments, maybe that's confusing people?

So apparently sometime soon they're going to reset everyone to level 5, reset all unlocks, and give everyone 5k gold. Probably when they get progression sorted out.

Everyone's stuff is locked out, yeah. I think it's because they're getting ready to deploy a patch to try and fix some of the progression issues, and part of that is going to be resetting everyone's unlocks (and setting them to level 5 and giving everyone 5000 gold), so they don't want anyone buying any more gear.
