Well don't you know I'm caught in a trap?

The old riding game turned out to be dead, when I tried to revive it, so I'm starting a new one.

The new rules are the same as the old rules:

quote:

Since its springtime, and a vast majority of CA is about to start riding at least 5% as much as we talk about riding, we should make our riding a game and play the aptly titled Riding Game.

Never played the riding game? Its easy, heres how it works:
Read this thread for the current challenge.
Be the first to take a picture of your bike fulfilling that challenge and post it here. No pre-existing pictures (except for my OP example), you have to go out and get the picture. Failure to do so will result in us knowing you're a dick.
You get to call the next challenge. Please make it specific and doable, as to not slow down the game.
Make it easy to find in the thread itself, maybe surround it with sirens?

Example: The challenge is "A Picture of your bike in the water," since that was the last challenge in the last thread.". If you are the first person to complete the challenge, you post a picture of your bike in the water, like so:

Spring has Sprung! It's beautiful outside, go conquer this challenge and make it your own!

The first new challenge is: Post a picture of your bike in front of something the screams "SPRING"

I feel the same way about the company bearing the same name.

How about spring flowers, a thawing lake and mountainside?

Challenge : Post your bike in inclement weather. This is about getting out there and riding!

It wasn’t raining on me yet when I took this picture but Uncle Gusty was there with a presence that made riding really unpleasant. Then that storm in the picture rained on me.

Next challenge: your bike at a little post office.

Dammit, that was supposed to be my inclement weather pic! :arghfist:

(You're somewhere along the front range in Colorado, right? I've been watching the weather and trying to time my ride home so I could arrive just in time to catch a few raindrops...)

Wow, that wind was no joke. My little Bluetooth controller came out of my pocket and was sacrificed to the interstate gods, and I'm blaming it on the wind.

Here's my tiny post office in Golden:

Next challenge: Go find a pet store. Bonus points if they have a bunch of puppies out front.

Shinko 705. 150 rear, I think 120 front. Both 17”. Excel Takasago wheels.

Yes! Post your bike... somewhere dangerous. Take that as ambiguously as you like.

Dangerous? Should I post from the top of a mountain? In front of the "MOTORCYCLES USE EXTREME CAUTION" sign on my street the county did a lovely job of chip sealing? Nah, that's nothing compared to this little piece of poo poo "town" with a horrendously designed major highway junction, partially at grade, blind traffic merges, concrete pillars in the road, no shoulders etc. Yields multiple fatal accidents a year, I commute through it every day :tesla:

No! They went out of business because they were illlegaly dumping raw sewage into Puget Sound! Sadly all the horny Carrier sailors must now beat off in one of the weirdly still extant Bremerton porno theaters. :trumpfap:

The discerning Calgarian knows the better burger is at Boogies, but Peter's is by far the landmark for shakes.

OK, you know those informational point-of-interest placards you see at the side of the road sometimes? Get your biek with one of those! (Or some variety of monument or memorial if your state doesn't do 'em.)

Picked a random memorial that was reasonably accessible and not a holocaust memorial. This guy was apparantly a Catholic bigwig in the late 19th century Dutch school struggle that ended up creating our weird system where anyone can start a religious or alternative school and have it funded by the state. Which was the price exacted by Christian factions to support universal suffrage.

Seeing as we don't have any, I'd like to see a picture of a bike on top of a hill or mountain.

Absolutely would have counted, alas no bike.

I'm secretly hoping for either slappers or bogans in the background, eliciting a 'dear God he ran a risk parking it there' response.

Closest thing I could find, no visible bogans today

If that counts, show me a pic of your bike on, under, or near a decrepit bridge.

I haven't been past here in a decade. Most of the graffiti is new and the clearance has somehow gone from 10'6" to 9'6" but otherwise it's the same old railroad bridge.

Next, park your bike next to an aircraft. Or near an aircraft. Close enough to get both in a picture.

If you imagine where the corners of a box truck would be going through there, and look at those parts of the arch, the height reduction explains itself :v:

I had the same thought. I googled that bridge after posting it and found a pic with a 10'1" clearance sign so I guess they're working off a modified version of Calvin's Dad Engineering

That's not an oil leak. That's the automatic oil change and chassis protection feature.

The local regional airport didn't have any planes parked in view, but they do have a little neat statue that goes from birds, to old time planes, to jets, to the space shuttle.

Since its winter time, how about park your bike on a mountain of snow. "mountain" is up to interpretation.

If your country is currently mostly on fire, does a mountain of ash/char count?

Ain't my bike thankfully, just babysitting it.

Anyway it's a totally basic 350 classic, I quite like it but I could never own one because I like to be able to feel my fingers above 80kmh.

So I got home from family holiday festivities itching to ride and the quest for a big orange thing was right up my alley because the Huey P. Long Bridge has been orange as long as I have been alive. So I threw on my gear, rode through the pouring rain (because I'll be damned if a bit of rain is going to keep me from riding after a week of not) rode over the "new bridge" (a newer interstate bridge closer to the residential side of the city) over to to the industrial side of town, crossed over the big orange bridge just to find out it isn't orange anymore. It has been recently painted grey.

So I don't have an entry for the riding game, but I feel that the game has worked as it was intended.

Yeah I was going to say, the goal isn't to photograph the thing, the goal is to ride. I was looking forward to going out and finding something orange, but I've been sick and sneezing in a helmet sucks.
