I love piano music. Classical, jazz, rock, anything with the 88s is my jam. Count Basie on a Hammond B3 is smooth, Bach on a harpsichord is soothing. I love a good ragtime player piano roll. If you dig the same, post up some Prof. Longhair or Duke Ellington or Henri Herbert or Lee Michaels or Commander Cody and share the joy.

I'm always looking for new stuff and always happy to share stuff that's new to me.

Let's start with some boogie woogie up in this juke joint. I just heard this first one tonight and drat if it didn't just speak to me.

For reference, here's the original Death Ray Boogie recorded in 1941:

And a masterful cover of the same by Joja Wendt:

Quality stuff you guys, thanks for sharing

Here's some random stuff from my playlist. First up is Alley Cat by Bent Fabric. It was a weird song to wedge into early 60s rock and stuff but it kinda grew on me over the years:

Next up is Dave 'Baby' Cortez and his happy organ. This stuff is totally happy. You cannot listen to this and be unhappy:

And finally Linus and Lucy, which everybody knows and hates to hear somebody play it in grandma's parlor. The original Vince Guaraldi Trio though, they do it proper:

Hamelin is the God of technique. Here's him playing a piece he composed where he essentially plays 3 Chopin etudes at the same time.

Check out his recordings of Alkan for some insane virtuosity. I also like this recording of him doing some Gershwin.

My favorite pianist is probably Murray Perahia, though. His recordings of Bach really inspired me to play piano, when I was on the verge of giving it up. My job is now playing piano, so thanks, Perahia.

Here he is playing a piece I've been practicing on and off for some years.
