Saw this today and I guess I was a little disappointed. All the action is phenomenal of course, but one of the things I love about the first two films is that they were totally aware of how bonkers they were, but simultaneously took it seriously and were actually very earnest. That second element is pretty much completely absent in this movie. John Wick has no real motivation beyond just surviving, and he and most other characters are joking around through the whole film.
