Man it's ridiculous that they haven't aired Close Enough (the Regular Show spiritual successor being made for TBS) yet, we've gotten to the point where we're getting stuff from shows that people who left close enough are involved in (like how a pair of former Close Enough boarders became a board team on Victor & Valentino and their V&V eps have already aired)

I can't find were I read it but Close Enough fell victim to TBS dropping all their animation except for American Dad. (Which they still might do after burning through the massive American Dad backlong). Rumor had it was being retooled to fit into a 15 min structure and move to Adult Swim like Final Space.

Tigtone has a weird animation style but it is still extremely funny. Basically Tigtone is what happens if a videogame player actually inhabited a fantasy world. Tigtone is only interested in doing quests and getting rewards from said quests. Also Tigtone always chooses the worst possible outcome for every event, like when sky pirates start attacking the kingdom stealing all their wine Tigtone solves the problem by turning them all into vampires so instead of wine they drink blood.

Tigtone getting hyped as gently caress about a quest and then his sheer disappointment at finding out it was a escort quests was funny as hell.

Can you guys go into why Season 3 of the Boondocks was so bad? I honestly don't remember it at all.

I really like that background comedy going on (the kids fusion dance, Hue trying to pick up a cup) in the background when ever some one is having a serious conversation. And Gary scatter brain speeches are still the best.

I hope this is true, because I liked Close Enough and would enjoy seeing more of it.

I worry about Close Enough staying power cause it has a niche ( early to mid 30 year olds with kids) but drat does it absolutely nail that niche for all its worth.

The writer's need to tone done Mariner wackiness a bit but the rest of the ensign characters legit being really excited for what they are doing vs the "I'm to old for this bull-poo poo" / glory hogging of the higher rank officers worked really well. There is a ton of fun the writers can have showing just how bad it is in the Lower Decks since every other series has focused on the high ranked officers.

Making the Doctor a old stray cat looking Caitian is a great visual joke for her personality.

And honestly I think the pilot had more charm and wtf-ability than the actual show, but I haven’t seen much of the latter. Does it find its uh, tone?

Yeah, especially if you come into the show realizing that Tigtone is just acting like a hyper active MMO RPG player. The escort quest episode was funny as hell as it was like doing any escort mission in a RPG.

Let's split the difference and say Tigtone acts like Ultima Online murder hobo.

What the hell would a Velma origin story even be? A mousey girl goes to a store and buys a sweater?
