Citations Needed is an absolute 100% required listen IMO, I have been disgustingly online for years and they have still blown my mind about very obvious manipulation that happens right in front of our faces every day. I think we all know that the media is bad and reflects the interests of the right but to have it spelled out in these hour-long blocks is really helpful (and will make you very angry). If you've heard of it but haven't got around to it yet just do it. Also the topic is how the media covers current events, it is not just a current events podcast. I would also throw in Struggle Session because Leslie Lee is an A+ leftist and Jack Allison has a good BS detector but they talk about pop culture mostly so it's fun.

Breadallelogram posted:gently caress it I'll post my podcast here: soundcloud.com/rockhardcaucus I listen to your show because it popped up on my tl and the name is funny, and I really like it. I even listened to some older ones. Didn’t know you had anything to do with SA until you mentioned reading a cspam thread in an ep lol. Having the Chapo guys on and then jack Allison are some pretty big gets for a new show, nice 😎. how often are you going to be putting out new ones now that the caucuses are over?

pod save america jon (the #1 alpha one) referenced chapo as "a few assholes with podcasts" on today's PSA, insisting that they represent a twitter-only minority and that everyone IRL is actually ready to line up behind biden to dump trump lol.

Atrocious Joe posted:Are the pod save johns talking about the world historical plague happening, or is it mostly just election bullshit. it was actually mostly plaguechat, but for the short election segments they were saying Biden needs to start looking like a leader starting yesterday at the latest. I don’t think they have a ton of confidence in old joe at the moment but would never come out and say it because that would cost them a lot of friends.

Unless I'm mistaken she's not like some leftist leader praxis queen, I'm only aware of her being funny on WATTBA and also she had a wrestling podcast? There is a lot of fairweather socialist/suburban NH energy in her actions but I don't see why it's like "uh byebye kath, DONE w/ her, HYPOCRITE" like she's been on the front lines of some people's movement.

gh0stpinballa posted:it has won awards for sound engineering too hasn't it. i have no idea why. WNYC and NPR in general *used to* have some of the most creative audio engineers in the biz from what I understand. I don't know much about the industry but this is something Scott Carrier said, and he is a genuinely amazing radio producer and I don't think he would make that up to suck up to NPR. 2002 isn't the olden days exactly, but it's before everyone's home computer could mix found sound and effects and do ~atmospheric immersive balancing~ so I can see how it would have been award-worthy back then. but lol at the idea of that cornball show winning anything after 2008 or so.

Very disappointed that I missed the red rose/walmart/mckinsey programmer guy discourse this weekend lol. What is with the libs doing safaris into "radical leftist" spaces? Why would you adopt the language of a group you don't share any values or goals with? Just go with the #persist dorks who genuinely feel that sending $10 to Emily's list is radical praxis. How do you do, fellow organizers!
