Youtuber GhazPlays has completed a bunch of the Impressions city builders, and apart from his tendency to get stuck with indecision every now and then, they're quite good.

Has anyone ever LP'd Warhammer: Shadow of the Horned Rat or WH: Dark Omen? I'd love to see someone tackle an RTS from back when there weren't that many set standards.

Does anyone remember the rogue-like megathread LP from, uuhh, many years ago? I can't remember who was the OP, and if it was a collaborative effort or not, but the thread went through an amazing amount of roguelikes, classics and new. I've been trying to find the thread, but it's kinda hard when you can't remember anything :shobon:

No, but I'll happily read it anyway :D I see it has a link to another megathread, which has fallen into the dark pit of the archives, so maybe it's just too old by now.

What are some good, thorough metroidvania LPs? I've been bingeing the obvious ones (Metroids and Castlevanias) on the archives, and it seems it's one of those genres I just don't get tired of watching. Informative and skilled 100% runs are preferable; I just don't have the patience to watch someone go in blind, and flail about aimlessly.

Highwang's 100% LP of Hollow Knight is chill, skilled, and IMO they're fun to listen to. He's also done La Mulana, but I haven't personally watched that one yet.

Oh, that's cool! I usually enjoy his LPs; didn't know it was that sort of game. Thanks!

I'll second that. They have a good chemistry, play interesting games, and have 0% annoying gimmicks. 10/10, A+ rating, would watch again.

Is there a good LP of Alien Isolation? I don't mind non-goon LPs, but there can't be shrieking or facecam.

It's not archived anywhere, which is a shame, but there's this one which isn't half-bad IIRC.

I just finished reading the Xenogears LP last night, and I highly recommend it. TheDarkId does a great job of summarizing the convoluted mess of a plot before it degenerates into base nonsense, and his tongue-in-cheek humour makes the pompous and overly purple prose bearable. I can't imagine enduring a straight VLP of Xenogears.

Are there any good LPs of Frostpunk and/or Fantasy General (1 or 2) floating around?

e: VLPs preferred, but I'm not picky about the medium.

Cool, thank you! I've thoroughly enjoyed your MoO and Imperium Galactica threads, so I'm sure your Frostpunk LP will be a hit, too :D

Can someone recommend some VLP of the old Sierra games? Mostly interested in the Quest for Glory series and some of the standalone games like Conquest of Camelot and Robin Hood.

I know Nidoking did a rather good playthrough of Torin's Passage. Granted, that's a later game, which has more in common with the last King's and Space Quest games. Then there's Bacter's LP of Laura Bow, which is one of my faves. None of these are QfG or the Conquest games, I'm afraid, but I hope it helps?

Gods, that was one of the threads that had me sign up for the forums, I think. That was a fantastic LP, as far as it went.

There was a Wargame: European Escalation LP on the forums a thousand years ago, but it was never archived. If they still exist, does anyone have a link to the videos, for those of us too cheap to spring :10bux: for the archives?

Can someone recommend me a good, thorough, non-blind Persona 5 Royal LP? Whether or not the LP is on the forums or not doesn't matter.

I started watching TheStrawhatNo's run, but I quickly grew frustrated with the bumbling, trial and error, "don't spoil me!" style :( Not that it's a knock against them; they're usually my favourites, just not when they don't really know what they're supposed to do :)

mpg specialises in SMT streams as a whole and just finished a playthrough of P5R today. It's not entirely a blind run, as he's played the original a couple of times and it's not a 100% run, he says because he doesn't want to be sitting there with a guide every step of the way, but he handles it better than most folks I've watched and doesn't read all the non-voiced text in dumb voices. He does stumble a little with the new content, but in fairness, he's playing it on Merciless difficulty and beats almost all the bosses first try. If you like Voiceofdog's stuff, i'd say he's along those lines: pretty chill, talks to the viewers every so often, but lets the game speak for itself by and large.

This sounds like something I'd enjoy, thanks!

I know there's an LP of Shadow Tower Abyss in the archives, but are there any Goon-approved LPs of the old King's Field games? Besides the one in the archives of the very first? Like it would be neat to get all of them.

EDIT: Durr mean to post this in the recommendation thread, but hey, might as well toss in a request for them. Honestly surprised they haven't been done.

Any good, short VLPs you fine folks can recommend me? I'll be stuck travelling in a bus in the next few days, and I'll be needing some entertainment. I don't have any particular requirements other than it should be around 5 to 10 hours long. Thanks!

Back from my travels, and should anyone happen to find themselves in the same situation, I found Blackstone Chronicles and Contradiction to be great for a 10 hour journey away and back. Episodes aren't too many or long, styles are sufficiently different, and both are entertaining. Top marks from me!

I'm having a weird flashback to an LP - that might not have been in here? - about physical casebooks where goons were given paper evidence and clues and had to solve a mystery. Like a CYOA but with more feelies. It wasn't from the Sherlock Holmes megathread, I remember that much. But... what was it?

Sounds like SelenicMartian's Murder off Miami

I can speak only for myself, but for me the greatest draw with Icewind Dale is the combat encounters. They're like puzzles to be solved with correct application of swords and spells. It's actually my favourite Infinity Engine game, but I'm not sure if I'd really be interested in following an LP of it; it'd have to be someone breaking it over their knee, mechanics wise, and even then...
