edit: The more I play this and Dusk, the less it feels like a straight-up throw back like say Ion Maiden, which I've also been enjoying, which aims for something very, very specific, but this feels like they're really kinda doing their own thing. (especially Dusk, that thing is pretty wild from what I've played)

the developers all got their start modding doom and the game really feels like its building on how doom has evolved to play instead of just looking to the past
