Pixels of Light.

I don’t have screenshots, which is the main thing hanging up me posting a proper update, but here’s what’s done in Chapter 3 so far:

• Forever Forest now behaves more like an ecosystem - Forest Fuzzies drain Mario’s HP and use it to buff their attack, and Piranha Plants can eat other enemies to heal and buff attack (if they eat a Forest Fuzzy) or defense (if they eat a Purple Spiny). Lakiwuns will sometimes preemptively feed Piranha Plants Spiny Eggs to heal/buff them, as well.

• The Boo Ring minigames in Boo’s Mansion have been made less “boo-ring” - now Mario will have to ignore decoy items tosses as well (including, for laughs, a fake Ultra Stone).

• Hyper enemies in Gusty Gulch now deliberately stagger their Charge attacks. Parabuzzies (flying Buzzy Beetles) can also be found in some Gulch formations— they are not very strong, but their hard shells give them extra defense against jumping attacks.

• In Tubba’s Castle, Sentinels can appear in battle formations. Bristles can appear as field enemies, and they no longer do their “on death” attack. They’re a bit beefier to compensate, though.

• Gusty Gulch has a special “escape sequence” mode once you pilfer the key to the windmill. All enemies are replaced with a large number of Clefts— which you can’t fight (they’ll ram into you and knock you away, dealing damage and ending the battle). Can you dodge them all and make it to the windmill in one piece?

As the saying goes, there’s more to come.
