I envision 80s GM like that old Die Hard arcade game. You start at the bottom of the building and must head to the CEO’s office. Along the way you must fight off/compromise with 400 middle managers and accountants, so that by the end of it your sports car ends up with an Iron Duke and suspension from a Pontiac 6000.

He has one good joke about never seeing a proud dad, but otherwise dude sucks. There are some good exterior and interior shots. I am so conflicted on the Climate controls. I really want to see them in person.

It took a bit, but the exterior look is growing on me fast. I'll still probably never buy one (until I'm 60  ) but it's pretty neat for the price.

I seem to recall awhile ago donut getting recommended when they had just launched. The "Everything You Need to Know About" series was pretty cool for largely accurate history of a brand/model. They have their shtick and certainly stick to it, but yeah, I'm over it. That said, I'm interested to see how this new vette pans out, but likely wont get one.

Had lunch today with a 65+ year old retired guy, who's a total harley and car guy. C8 came up and I was curious to hear his opinion. He said "C2 is still my dream car, but why the hell they didn't do this years ago is beyond me. It's about loving time. gently caress the assholes that hate it." Amen brother.

Yeah, as I talk to more people in the target market for those basically anyone who's legit passionate about the iron is really embracing this change. I can see it being an effective litmus for telling the good older car guys from the douchey ones, at least for a while.

I can’t imagine it will hold value terribly well since they’re making so many of them. Looks like a local dealer is having one for display September 6th, although I haven’t decided if I want to see it since traffic in that direction will be pretty bad.

It's big...like 6 inches longer than a C7 (Probably for the golf club thing). I dunno, in some colors it looks really good. Elkhart Blue looks drat good.

It’s longer because they can’t cram the engine halfway into the passenger compartment like they were doing to make the earlier ones a mid-front engine layout. The rear overhang appears to be dictated by the transmission, not the cargo compartment.

My son showed me the youtube video of that yesterday. Guy with the Supra went to a Chevy dealer and ordered a C8, then drove to Bowling Green so he could see one in the flesh. The Vette doesn't look good in black imo.

Yeah the guy was super annoying but my son likes him because of all the exotics he's around......He showed me one video where the guy came upon a super rare Pagani at some auto show, I think it was a one-off maybe? But it was worth like 15 million and loving amazing.
